What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Heidentor combines character progression, cooperative combat, crafting, trading, and large group encounters. We want players to help shape how these systems work together while there is still room to make meaningful changes.

Our goals during Early Access are to improve class and talent balance, refine leveling and equipment progression, develop the available quests and group content, and improve performance and server stability. Player feedback can help us identify where progression feels too slow, encounters are unclear, or crafting and trading need adjustment.

We are committed to continued development, reviewing player feedback, and communicating our progress as we work toward a full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Heidentor to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 months. This is an estimate and may change as development progresses. Our priorities are refining progression and combat, developing the available content, and improving stability. Player feedback and the work required to meet these goals will influence the timing of a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the available quests and group content, including additional dungeon encounters, and further develop character builds and equipment progression.
We also intend to refine class balance, crafting and the player economy, improve the interface and the experience for new players, and continue work on performance and server stability.

Feedback from Early Access players will help us decide which improvements and additions to prioritize. The scope of these plans may change during development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains the core MMORPG experience: creating a character, exploring a shared world, completing quests, developing a build, gathering resources, crafting equipment, trading, and taking part in group combat.

The currently implemented content includes:
- The Elderwood Marches, an open world spanning ten regions with towns, wilderness areas, and a day and night cycle.
- Leveling up to lvl20
- Five playable classes: Warrior, Paladin, Tinkerer, Wizard, and Necromancer, with character progression and talent trees.
- More than 200 quests, including introductory quests and storylines across the world.
- Ten gathering and crafting professions, equipment with randomized properties and sockets, and player trading through a realm-wide marketplace.
- Social features including parties, guilds, shared guild storage, and banks.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price as substantial content and improvements are added during Early Access or when the game reaches full release. We intend to announce any price changes in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are particularly interested in feedback on class balance, leveling pace, quest clarity, dungeon and raid difficulty, crafting, trading, and technical performance. We intend to use these reports to identify recurring problems and help prioritize development.

An Ingame ticket system allow the players to report any bug or even feature requests.”

About This Game

Heidentor is an open-world fantasy MMORPG with class-based combat and an economy built on gathering, crafting and player trade.

Classes and character builds

Your class determines your abilities and how you support a party. Talent points unlock abilities and improve the ones you invest in; you won’t have enough points to learn everything. Compare stat rolls and magical affixes, then fit jewels and runes into socketed equipment to refine your build.

Party benefits include faster attacks, resource recovery and protective barriers, so your choice of class also affects the players alongside you.

Professions and player economy

Ten professions cover gathering and crafting:

  • Mining

  • Harvesting

  • Woodcutting

  • Fishing

  • Smelting

  • Weapon Smith

  • Armor Smith

  • Alchemy

  • Jewelcraft

  • Runecraft

A smith making a top-tier weapon needs a jeweler’s cut sapphire as well as metal and timber. Buy missing materials or sell your finished work through direct player trading and the auction house. Guilds can pool equipment and supplies in a shared vault.

Quests

Level through hunting, escort, gathering and crafting quests across the open world. Rewards include equipment and crafting recipes alongside experience.

Endgame PvE and PvP

Form a five-player dungeon group, join a raid of up to twenty players, or gather allies for world bosses and other open-world encounters. Boss fights call for coordination, with raid mechanics such as holding summoning seals shut while avoiding attacks.

Fight in instanced battlegrounds with up to 50 players per side, or join long-running PvP events in the open world.
