What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Bust Out lives and dies by playing with friends. Early Access lets us find out with real groups whether hanging out in the casino and pulling off heists together is as much fun as we want it to be – and tune suspicion, guards, alarms and the table games to how crews actually play, not how we think they play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Bust Out to stay in Early Access for about 6 months, depending on player feedback and how the game evolves.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand Bust Out step by step. Ideas we're working towards include more casinos with their own style and security, more table and bar games (such as poker, roulette or dice), crew roles like hacker or safecracker, higher security levels with lasers and traps, more disguises, character customization, outfits, emotes and base decoration. What makes it in, and in which order, will depend on player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the first casino, "The Golden Ace", with online co-op for 1–8 players via Steam. Gamble at the tables (Blackjack, Higher/Lower duels and more), drink at the bar, start brawls – and if you feel like it, plan a heist: sneak past guards, knock them out, steal their uniforms, hide the bodies and crack the vault. Your winnings go into your own vault at your base.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price gradually as more content is added, so Early Access players get the game at a lower price. Bust Out will never have microtransactions or loot boxes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read the Steam discussions and reviews and will run regular playtests with the community. Every update comes with patch notes explaining what changed and why, and we'll ask players directly which casinos, games and features they want to see next.”

About This Game

Gamble, drink, brawl – and if you dare, rob the place.

Bust Out is a chaotic co-op casino sandbox for 1 to 8 friends. Hang out together at The Golden Ace, put your chips on the line at real tables, party at the bar and give security a workout with a good old brawl. And sooner or later, one of you starts staring at the vault door a little too long…

None of it is mandatory. There are no timers and no forced heists – just a casino that reacts to everything you do.

Real games at real tables

Cards, dice, the ball and your chips are right there on the table. Anyone standing next to you sees exactly what you see – they watch, root for you and laugh when it goes wrong. Take a seat, play a round and decide every single time: keep playing or cash out at the cage?
  • Against the house: Blackjack, Casino Hold'em, Roulette, Craps, slot machines, wheels of fortune and horse racing
  • Against each other: Texas Hold'em, Liar's Dice, Higher/Lower duels, pool and arm wrestling

A casino that watches back

Every action has consequences. Win too often and people notice. Sneak around the staff corridor and they notice even more. Your suspicion rises, security gets nervous and the alarm level climbs from "Calm" to "Loud". Win big and you become a VIP with drinks on the house – get thrown out too often and you're banned. And sometimes a little cash convinces a guard to look the other way.

At the bar things get wobbly: the more you drink, the more the world sways. In a pinch, the bottle doubles as a weapon – guests run, security steps in, and whoever causes too much trouble gets thrown out.

The heist is optional – but tempting

Plan the job at the planning table in your base and pick your roles: Face, Hacker, Safecracker or Muscle. Inside the casino, sneak up on guards, knock them out from behind, stuff them into the nearest container and borrow their uniform – or the outfit of a dealer or waiter.

Crack the vault door, grab money bags and chip cases and haul them out – the heavier the loot, the slower you move. When the alarm goes off, the police storm in wave after wave and things get loud, chaotic and usually pretty hilarious. Escape with the loot, flee without it or call the whole thing off – it's your call. A fence takes your stolen chips, and pull off a job without ever raising the alarm to earn the Ghost rank.

The casino remembers every heist and upgrades its security: laser grids, keypads, combination locks, tranquilizer traps, trapdoors – and eventually mines in the vault.

Your base, your vault

On the edge of town lies your base district. Everyone buys their own lot and builds a home on it – walls, fences, doors with locks and plenty of decoration. Your money is safe in your own vault. What's in your pockets isn't – every trip to the casino is a bet. And if you trust your mates, you can let them try to crack your vault…

Get to the casino on foot, by taxi or in your own ride from the car dealership.

Better with friends

  • Co-op for 1 to 8 players via Steam, heists are balanced for around 4 players
  • Gamble against each other, break in together
  • Proximity voice chat: you hear each other when you're close
  • Melee, weapons and friendly fire in three levels as a lobby option – for friendships that can take a punch
  • Create your own character, try on outfits and use emotes

Played fair

Bust Out uses fictional in-game currency only. There is no gambling for real money, no microtransactions and no loot boxes. The casino games use real odds – no rigged near-misses.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Bust Out is a slapstick co-op heist game set in a casino. It contains simulated casino gambling (Blackjack and other table games) using fictional in-game chips only – no real money is wagered and nothing can be bought with real money. Players can drink alcohol at the bar with comedic drunk effects, rob the casino, and knock out guards or other players in cartoonish, bloodless fights.
