What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Bust Out lives and dies by playing with friends. Early Access lets us find out with real groups whether hanging out in the casino and pulling off heists together is as much fun as we want it to be – and tune suspicion, guards, alarms and the table games to how crews actually play, not how we think they play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Bust Out to stay in Early Access for about 6 months, depending on player feedback and how the game evolves.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand Bust Out step by step. Ideas we're working towards include more casinos with their own style and security, more table and bar games (such as poker, roulette or dice), crew roles like hacker or safecracker, higher security levels with lasers and traps, more disguises, character customization, outfits, emotes and base decoration. What makes it in, and in which order, will depend on player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the first casino, "The Golden Ace", with online co-op for 1–8 players via Steam. Gamble at the tables (Blackjack, Higher/Lower duels and more), drink at the bar, start brawls – and if you feel like it, plan a heist: sneak past guards, knock them out, steal their uniforms, hide the bodies and crack the vault. Your winnings go into your own vault at your base.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price gradually as more content is added, so Early Access players get the game at a lower price. Bust Out will never have microtransactions or loot boxes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read the Steam discussions and reviews and will run regular playtests with the community. Every update comes with patch notes explaining what changed and why, and we'll ask players directly which casinos, games and features they want to see next.”

About This Game

The house always wins. Unless you punch the dealer.

Bust Out is a casino sandbox for 1 to 8 friends. Gamble at real tables, drink your way across the bar, pick a fight with security and, if you feel like it, empty the vault. Or don't. Nothing is mandatory. No timer, no pressure, just a casino that reacts to every stupid thing you do.

Real games. Real tables. Fake friends.

The ball really rolls, the cards are dealt one by one from the shoe and your chips sit right there on the felt. Anyone standing nearby sees exactly what you see. So gather round, sweat every spin and laugh out loud when your buddy pushes his last chips onto red.
  • Against the house in Blackjack, Casino Hold'em, Roulette, Craps, Slots, Wheel of Fortune and Horse Racing
  • Against each other in Texas Hold'em, Liar's Dice, Higher or Lower and Pool

Just one more. Said everyone.

The round bar serves beer, whiskey, tequila and the Golden Ace cocktail. Every sip bends the picture a little more, the camera tilts and your legs make their own plans. Hit 100 percent and you're out cold. Ideally face first on the roulette table.

Everything has consequences.

Win too often and people notice. Knock out a guest and they notice even more. Your suspicion rises, security steps in and sooner or later you're thrown out. Win big and you become a VIP with drinks on the house. Get thrown out too often and you're banned. And some guards are happy to look the other way for a few bucks.

Then someone stares at the vault door a little too long.

The heist is optional. But oh so tempting. Plan the job in your base and pick your roles Face, Hacker, Safecracker and Muscle. Sneak up, put guards to sleep from behind, stuff them in the fridge and slip into their uniform. Then pick the vault lock, pin by pin.

The fatter the loot, the slower the getaway.

Money bags and cases full of chips are heavy. With your hands full you don't run, you haul. And every choice is a bet. Grab one more bag or get out while you still can?

Alarm means party.

The moment the alarm goes off, things get loud. The police roll in wave after wave, each one bigger than the last, and they won't stop until your heist is over. This is where you find out who in your crew keeps a cool head and who runs around screaming.

Who's driving? Doesn't matter. Just go.

Jump in the car, floor it off the forecourt and head back to your base. Whatever you bring home safely gets split with the crew. The fence launders stolen chips. And if you pull it off without a single alarm, you earn the Ghost rank and a 25 percent bonus on top.

Failing is part of the fun. Usually the best part.

No game over, no lost progress. Get caught and you only lose what you were carrying. Your vault stays safe. So laugh it off, get up and plan the next attempt. The casino remembers every job though and upgrades its security. Lasers, keypads, dart traps, trapdoors and finally mines inside the vault.

Your base. Your vault. Your rules.

Everyone buys their own plot on the edge of town and starts building. Walls, fences, doors with locks and decorations until it feels like home. Your money is safe in your own vault. Grab a car at the dealership, paint it and park it right outside your garage. And if you really trust your mates, let them crack your vault.

Fair play. No real money.

Bust Out uses fictional in game currency only. No real money gambling, no microtransactions, no loot boxes. Every casino game runs on real odds with no rigged near misses.

Better with friends.

  • Play together with 1 to 8 players over Steam, heists are balanced for around 4
  • Proximity voice chat, so you hear each other when you stand close
  • Fists, bottles and firearms, friendly fire in three settings
  • Create your own character with outfits and emotes
  • Endless mode with the save on the host
Grab your crew. The Golden Ace is waiting.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Bust Out is a slapstick co-op heist game set in a casino. It contains simulated casino gambling (Blackjack and other table games) using fictional in-game chips only – no real money is wagered and nothing can be bought with real money. Players can drink alcohol at the bar with comedic drunk effects, rob the casino, and knock out guards or other players in cartoonish, bloodless fights.
