About This Game

TRIADS is a turn-based tactical mech combat game built around positioning, initiative, firing arcs, and coordinated attacks. This demo introduces the core combat system through a guided Training Exercise, then puts those rules into practice against a computer-controlled opponent.

Command teams of three cybernetically linked mechs across a hex-based battlefield. Each mech moves and fires independently, but effective coordination can turn three separate machines into a powerful combat unit.

In the Demo

  • Learn the core TRIADS rules while playing. The Training Exercise introduces movement, combat, initiative, targeting, and the major tactical concepts step by step.

  • Fight on a hex-based battlefield. Position and facing matter. Maneuver for clear shots, protect vulnerable angles, and force your opponent into bad positions.

  • Manage Movement and Combat Initiative. Winning initiative can determine who activates first and who gets the first opportunity to strike.

  • Use firing arcs and rear attacks. Getting behind an enemy can dramatically improve an attack, while careless positioning can leave your own mechs exposed.

  • Combine fire. Multiple mechs from the same triad can concentrate their attacks against a single target when they are properly positioned.

  • Manage Cybernetic Feedback. Keeping linked mechs too close together can interfere with their combat effectiveness, forcing you to balance concentration against separation.

  • Command different mech types. Each class brings its own strengths, movement capabilities, and battlefield role.

  • Face a computer-controlled enemy. Put the rules you have learned into practice and experiment with different tactical approaches.

The demo is designed to teach you how TRIADS plays while giving you a complete taste of its tactical combat system. Learn your machines, coordinate your triads, and discover how much can change with a single move, facing decision, or well-timed attack.

The Full Game

The full version of TRIADS expands beyond the Training Exercise with additional battlefields, scenarios, force-building options, mech combinations, achievements, and deeper tactical play.

Take what you learn in the demo and apply it across larger engagements where positioning, initiative, target selection, and triad composition become even more important.

The full game is designed for players who want to explore the TRIADS combat system beyond the introductory battle and develop their own tactical approach.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Triads is a microgame created myself in 2021. Every bit of the game is of my creation.

All music is human generated and well deserved credit has been given to them in the credits section of the game.

As much as I have learned countless adobe products such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and others, to create the physical game, coding eludes me. I have enough knowledge to play around, but could never succeed at the heights AI has now allowed me. I have used AI to code my game mechanics into digital form and I have to say I was quickly impressed.

We are in the birth of Star Trek level technology and I am here for it.
