What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Somnia Automata is a passion project that combines crafting, automation, exploration and a healthy dose of humor. Early Access gives us the opportunity to develop the game together with our community, gather valuable feedback and refine existing systems while gradually expanding the world of Blightshire.

We want players to be part of the journey, share their ideas and help shape the future of Somnia Automata.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Somnia Automata to remain in Early Access for approximately one to two years. However, this is an estimate rather than a fixed release date.

As an independent project, development will depend on player feedback, technical requirements and the scope of upcoming features. We would rather take the time needed to deliver a polished experience than rush towards an arbitrary deadline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand Somnia Automata with additional areas to explore, more advanced automation systems, new robots, crafting recipes, machines and upgrades. I also aim to introduce more characters, quests, activities and events that bring the world of Blightshire to life.

Existing gameplay systems, balancing, performance and the overall player experience will be continuously refined throughout Early Access. Community feedback will help me determine which features and improvements deserve particular attention.

My goal for the full version is a richer, more polished world with deeper automation, more meaningful progression and plenty of surprises to discover. All planned features are subject to change during development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current development version already features a playable world centered around the town of Blightshire, with NPC interactions, exploration, resource gathering, crafting and trading.

Players can work with various crafting stations, manufacture items, manage their character's basic needs and interact with the inhabitants of the town. Additional activities include arcade mini(not THAT mini)games, while existing systems provide the foundation for future automation and progression.

The game is still under active development. Some areas, mechanics and content are incomplete or subject to change, and players should expect occasional bugs, balancing adjustments and regular improvements.

The exact content available at the start of Early Access will be confirmed closer to release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I consider offering Somnia Automata at a lower price during Early Access to reflect its current stage of development. As I add more content, expand existing systems and approach the full release, the price will increase.

Any potential price adjustments will depend on the game's development and overall scope. I will communicate significant changes in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is an important part of the development process. I plan to share regular development updates, discuss upcoming features and collect suggestions through the Discord server and the Steam Community Hub.

Players will be encouraged to report bugs, share their experiences and provide feedback on gameplay, balancing and new features. I also look forward to hearing creative ideas from the community, some of which may inspire future additions to the game.

While not every suggestion can be implemented, we want to maintain open communication and give players a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the development of Somnia Automata.”

About This Game

Welcome to Blightshire

You inherited a house. That's the good news.
The less good news: there's not much more to it than a starting point just yet.

Somnia Automata is a 2D cozy game about crafting, exploration, and automation – most of the time, anyway. Gather resources, craft items, expand your workshop, and gradually develop machines and robots that take most of the work off your hands.

What you make of your new life is largely up to you. And if you'd rather spend the entire day in the arcade playing games – that's fine too.

Build. Tinker. Automate.

At first, you'll still have to do most things yourself. Resources can be gathered. Too lazy? Buy them instead. Materials need to be processed and items need to be crafted. As you gain access to new tools, machines, and technologies, more and more possibilities open up.

Expand your workshop, improve your production capabilities, and eventually let robots handle the jobs you now have far more important things to do than deal with.

Or the ones you're simply too distracted to do.

Explore Blightshire

Your home is only a small part of the world. Explore Blightshire and its surroundings, visit shops, wander through forests, search the scrapyard for useful materials, and discover places where you probably have no business being in the first place.

Along the way, you'll meet the town's residents – each with their own stories, quirks, and occasionally surprisingly questionable business practices.

More Than Just Work

Not every day has to be productive.

Trade with the locals, furnish your home, take care of your character's needs, or spend your hard-earned Scrips on things that are definitely an excellent financial decision.

And if the workshop and town get a little too peaceful, several arcade games are waiting to distract you from every sensible thing you were supposed to be doing. There's also a stock market where you can conveniently lose your hard-earned Scrips all over again.

Your Pace. Your Decisions.

Somnia Automata combines crafting, automation, and resource management with an open world, memorable characters, stories both big and small, secrets, and a healthy dose of humor.

And let's not forget: at least eleventy-something Easter eggs. Find them all!

Optimize your production down to the smallest detail – or spend the afternoon finding out what's around the next corner.

Blightshire isn't going anywhere.

Hopefully.
