What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Guildmaster Simulator has come a long way since I first started developing it, but there's still plenty I'd like to improve and build upon. As a solo developer, I can only test and experience the game from my own perspective, and I believe getting it into the hands of more players is the best way to help it grow.

Early Access gives me the opportunity to hear directly from the community about what's working well, what could be improved, and what players would like to see in the future. Whether that's balancing, quality-of-life improvements, new content or ideas I haven't even considered yet, I want player feedback to play a meaningful part in shaping the game.

My goal is to continue building Guildmaster Simulator into something players genuinely enjoy, and I think involving the community throughout that process is the right way to do it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm currently aiming for Guildmaster Simulator to remain in Early Access for around 3–6 months, although this could extend to 12 months if needed.

As a solo developer, I'm balancing development time with gathering and responding to player feedback. I don't want to rush the game into a full release simply to meet a deadline, especially if there are areas that could benefit from more work.

Ultimately, the length of Early Access will depend on how the game progresses, the feedback I receive, and how much additional development is needed before I feel it's ready for a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The core experience of Guildmaster Simulator is already in place, so my main focus throughout Early Access will be on refining and improving what I've built rather than making major changes to the game's direction.

I'd like to spend more time polishing the existing systems, improving gameplay balance, refining the user interface, and making the overall experience feel more natural and enjoyable. Player feedback will be a big part of identifying which areas need the most attention, and I'll also be looking at opportunities to expand or improve existing content along the way.

Another important goal of mine is to gradually replace the AI-generated artwork currently used throughout the game with original, commissioned artwork as time and resources allow. The artwork has helped me bring Guildmaster Simulator to life as a solo developer, but I'd love to give the game a more distinctive visual identity as development continues.

Ultimately, I'd like the full release to feel like a more polished, balanced and complete version of the game, shaped not just by my own vision but also by the experiences and feedback of the players who join me during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Guildmaster Simulator is already fully playable, with its core gameplay systems and campaign progression in place. Players can recruit and develop their own adventurers, manage equipment and resources, send heroes on expeditions, upgrade their guild, and work their way through the game's different regions and challenges. There are also plenty of additional systems to explore, including factions, Legendary heroes, guild events, and character specialisations.

I've also been running a Steam Playtest for approximately a month, which has already provided some incredibly valuable feedback. During that time, I've released numerous updates covering bug fixes, gameplay balancing, user interface improvements, system reworks, and quality-of-life changes. It's been great seeing how players approach the game differently from how I originally imagined, and their feedback has helped me identify and improve areas I might otherwise have overlooked.

While the game has a substantial amount of content and is playable from beginning to end, there are still areas I'd like to refine. Players may encounter bugs, balance issues, or parts of the interface that need further attention as development continues.

I'm happy with how far Guildmaster Simulator has come, but I know there's still room to make it better. Early Access is an opportunity to build on the progress already made during the Playtest and continue improving the experience alongside a wider community of players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At this stage, I don't have any plans to change the price of Guildmaster Simulator when it leaves Early Access.

I've tried to set a price that I feel is fair for the content and experience the game currently offers, while also taking into account that it's still being developed and improved.

While things may change as development progresses, my current intention is to keep the pricing consistent throughout Early Access and into the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback has already played an important part in the development of Guildmaster Simulator, and I'd love for that to continue throughout Early Access.

I've set up a dedicated Discord community where players can share their experiences, stories, screenshots, suggestions, and any bugs they come across. It's also a place where players can chat with each other, ask questions, and speak directly with me about the game.

As a solo developer, I genuinely appreciate hearing how others experience Guildmaster Simulator. Some of the improvements made during the recent Steam Playtest have come directly from player feedback, and I'd like to keep that same open approach moving forward.

I plan to remain active in the Discord community, share development updates and patch notes, and continue listening to suggestions as the game evolves. While I won't be able to implement every idea, I'll always welcome constructive feedback and do my best to address issues and make improvements where I can.

Ultimately, I want players to feel that their voices are being heard and that they're helping shape the future of Guildmaster Simulator.”

About This Game

Build Your Guild. Shape Your Heroes. Forge Your Legacy.

Guildmaster Simulator is a fantasy guild-management RPG where you take charge of a struggling adventurers' guild and guide it towards becoming a legendary institution.

Recruit adventurers, develop their abilities, equip them with powerful gear, and send them on dangerous expeditions across four distinct regions. Build your guild's reputation, discover legendary heroes, manage relationships with factions, and make the decisions that shape its future.

Every adventurer has their own strengths, weaknesses, traits and potential. Some may rise to become legends, while others might return from an expedition injured, changed, or not at all.

Success brings opportunity. Failure brings consequences. And every hero has a story worth telling.

Create a Guild of Your Own

Every great guild has to start somewhere.

Choose your guild's origins and guiding philosophy, shaping its starting circumstances and the kind of organisation you want to build.

Will you lead an honourable guild that puts its people first? Pursue wealth and influence? Seek glory through dangerous contracts? Or forge your own path, regardless of what others think?

As your guild grows, you'll make decisions about its resources, reputation and relationships with the world around it.

You're not just managing adventurers. You're building something that will outlast them.

Recruit, Train and Develop Your Adventurers

Your heroes are more than disposable units.

Recruit adventurers from the Tavern, discover their strengths and weaknesses, and help them grow through experience, training and equipment.

Develop their classes, specialisations and proficiencies, improve their attributes, and prepare them for increasingly difficult challenges.

Every hero develops differently, and the decisions you make throughout their career can influence what they eventually become.

Some may even encounter strange and dangerous forces that offer extraordinary power at a cost.

Whether you embrace those changes or seek to reverse them is up to you.

Send Heroes on Dangerous Expeditions

The world is full of opportunities for an ambitious guild.

Choose from available contracts, assess the dangers, and assemble a party with the right combination of skills and experience.

Successful expeditions can reward your guild with gold, Renown, experience and valuable equipment. Failure can leave adventurers injured, cost precious resources, or bring consequences that follow them home.

As your guild becomes more established, you'll encounter special opportunities, unusual events and story-driven quests that offer challenges beyond ordinary contracts.

But remember, your strongest heroes cannot be everywhere at once.

Sometimes knowing when not to take a contract is just as important as completing one.

Explore Four Distinct Regions

Your guild's journey begins in the peaceful lands of Greenvale, but greater challenges await beyond its borders.

Progress through four regions, each with its own atmosphere, dangers and opportunities:

  • Greenvale — Where your guild's journey begins and its reputation is first established.

  • Blackwood — A darker and more dangerous region where greater challenges await.

  • Ironpeaks — Rugged mountain lands that demand stronger, better-prepared adventurers.

  • Ashlands — A harsh volcanic region where your most experienced heroes will be put to the test.

As you progress, new expeditions, challenges and opportunities become available, pushing your guild to continually improve.

Discover Legendary Heroes

Not every adventurer is found waiting in a Tavern.

Throughout your journey, you may uncover special questlines connected to powerful Legendary heroes, each with their own background and place in the world.

Progress through their stories, overcome the challenges surrounding them, and earn the opportunity to welcome these exceptional adventurers into your guild.

Legendary heroes can become valuable additions to your roster, but unlocking them is only part of their story.

Find, Equip and Improve Powerful Gear

A well-equipped adventurer has a much better chance of returning home.

Build equipment loadouts across weapons, armour, helmets, gloves, boots, rings and amulets.

Discover increasingly rare equipment, compare attributes and bonuses, and decide which heroes should receive your most valuable discoveries.

Use the Guild's Armoury and Workshop to improve equipment and make use of items you no longer need.

Whether you're preparing a new recruit for their first expedition or equipping a veteran for a dangerous encounter, the right gear can make all the difference.

Build and Upgrade Your Guild

Your guild is more than a collection of adventurers.

Earn Renown, increase your Guild Rank, and invest in facilities that help your organisation grow.

Expand your Tavern to attract more experienced recruits, develop training facilities, improve equipment through your Workshop and Armoury, and help injured heroes recover in the Infirmary.

Each improvement opens new possibilities for developing your roster and preparing for the challenges ahead.

From a handful of inexperienced adventurers to a respected institution capable of tackling legendary threats, how your guild develops is in your hands.

Make Decisions That Matter

Not every challenge can be solved with a sword.

Guild Affairs, unexpected events, faction relationships and special opportunities will occasionally demand your attention as Guildmaster.

Some decisions may benefit your heroes, while others could affect your resources, reputation or relationships.

You won't always have a perfect solution, and sometimes the consequences of a decision won't become clear until later.

It's up to you to decide what matters most to your guild.

Follow Your Guild's Story

Every expedition, achievement and setback becomes part of your guild's history.

Through the Guild Journal, you can look back on the events that helped shape your organisation and the adventurers who made it possible.

Perhaps a promising recruit becomes your most dependable veteran. Perhaps a hero survives an encounter that changes them forever. Or perhaps an expedition ends in tragedy, leaving you to rebuild and carry on.

No two guilds will experience every challenge in quite the same way.

The heroes may earn the glory, but it's your decisions that shape their legacy.

Help Shape Guildmaster Simulator

Guildmaster Simulator is being developed by a solo developer, and community feedback has already played an important part in improving the game.

Following an initial month-long Steam Playtest, numerous updates have been released covering gameplay balancing, bug fixes, interface improvements, system reworks and quality-of-life changes.

Early Access is the next step in that journey.

The core game and campaign are already playable, but there's still plenty I'd like to refine. My focus moving forward is on improving the overall experience, responding to player feedback, and gradually replacing AI-generated artwork with original commissioned assets as resources allow.

If you enjoy guild-management games, developing characters, making difficult decisions and watching your own stories unfold, I'd love to have you along for the journey.

Build your guild. Shape your heroes. Make your mark on the world.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Guildmaster Simulator is an independently developed game, and generative AI has been one of the tools that has helped me bring it to life.

When I first started development, AI was particularly valuable as a learning and development assistant. It helped me understand unfamiliar concepts, explore solutions, and develop the skills and confidence to begin implementing and improving more of the game myself. As development has progressed, I've continued building on that knowledge and becoming more independent in my work.

As I'm not a professional artist or illustrator, generative AI has also helped me create character portraits, selected visual assets, interface elements, and promotional artwork. These assets are reviewed, refined, and adapted to fit the game's overall style and direction. While they've been incredibly helpful in getting the game to where it is today, my long-term goal is to gradually replace AI-generated artwork with original, commissioned assets as development progresses and resources allow.

Generative AI has also assisted with portions of the game's written content, including some quest descriptions, events, and narrative elements. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by me before being included to ensure it fits the world, characters, and overall vision of Guildmaster Simulator.

AI has been a valuable part of my journey as a solo developer, both in helping me create the game and in teaching me skills I can continue to build upon. However, the creative direction, design decisions, gameplay systems, and ongoing development remain my own responsibility.

No generative AI is used during gameplay. All AI-assisted content is created during development, reviewed before inclusion, and included as fixed content within the game.
