You start with cold hydrogen and a dead clump of dust. Feed it, and the mix decides what ignites — 21 kinds of star, dwarf and collapsed body, none of them picked off a menu. Then send what you made into the ring with a God riding it, and knock rival bodies out of orbit.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Stellar Forge already has its full core loop playable: feed a proto-mass and watch it ignite into one of 21 stellar types, fight it in the Beyblade-rules arena, grow it three ways, and equip it with titles, cosmetics, launch upgrades and one of 77 gods. What Early Access buys is time with real players before the systems we're least sure of are locked in: the balance of the three growth rates (idle, away, and active forging), the pacing of the 24-leg solar-system adventure we just added, the fairness of arena matchmaking, and which of the 21 bodies and 77 gods feel underpowered or overtuned once people are actually grinding for them. We'd rather tune those against real playtime than our own guesses.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect roughly 6 to 12 months in Early Access. That is a plan, not a promise — the actual length depends on how much tuning the growth curves, the adventure, and matchmaking need once real players are pushing on them.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to keep expanding what a body can discover on its adventure through the solar system and out into the galaxy, add more named asteroid and moon variants to find, and keep growing the roster of 77 gods and their abilities. We plan to continue tuning the pacing of idle, away, and active growth based on player data, and to keep polishing the arena's matchmaking so a new roster never runs into a wall of overwhelming opponents. We do not plan to add multiplayer, accounts, or any network connection — the game will stay a fully offline, single-player experience through and after Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The forge, the 21 stellar types, the Beyblade-rules arena, the trading-card roster with titles, cosmetics, launch upgrades and gods, weekly seasons, and the solar-system adventure are all in and playable start to finish. What's still being tuned: the exact pacing of the three growth rates, the discovery rate for the 24 non-starter elements found through battle and the adventure, and matchmaking fairness at the low and high ends of the roster. As with any Early Access build, balance numbers and some rough edges will change based on player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will rise modestly at full release, when more content is in.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read every Steam review and community hub post, and we're a small, solo-developed project, so feedback directly shapes what gets tuned next — growth rate pacing, adventure length, matchmaking fairness, and which gods or stellar types need a second look. Patch notes will explain what changed and why, including when something changed because players asked for it.”

About This Game

Stellar Forge is an auto battler where you don't pick your fighter. You forge it. Feed a cold cloud of gas, find out what ignites, then send it into the ring to knock rival bodies out of orbit, with a god riding along.

Feed the cold. See what lights.

There is no "build a star" button and no menu of stars. A dark proto-mass waits at the centre of the screen, and the only verb is feed. Stream in hydrogen and you get hydrogen's outcomes. Stream in oxygen, iron or uranium and the mass, the density and the heat curve all move, and something else ignites instead. You find out what you made when it lights.

Twenty-eight elements: four from the forge, every other one found on the adventure or in a rival you beat, by each stellar for itself. Where you grow it matters too: 24 incubators, 13 of them real nebulae, Orion, the Crab and the Horsehead among them.

21 bodies, and size is physical

A brown dwarf and a blue giant are not one sprite in two colours. Mass drives a real diameter, and the diameter is what you see: protostars, red supergiants, Wolf-Rayet stars, pulsars, magnetars, strange quark stars, quasar cores, black holes, each with its own size band, stats and abilities. Tap any size to read it in solar, Earth or SI units, with one line on what it is next to in the real sky: about 1.9x Vega's width. Every body you make is a card in your roster: flip it for a fact about its type, with the scientists behind it credited, or open it to fit titles, cosmetics and launch upgrades.

Then it fights

Aim, hold to fill the launch meter, let go, and the battle plays out. Your body caroms round the ring for up to three minutes: mass decides who moves whom, density decides who sheds matter, spin decides how hard the grind goes. Hits blow marks into the surface that stay for the fight. Knock a rival out of the ring or shatter it, and absorb what is left. And some rivals belong to no star: rogue planets and runaway stars, real ones like Zeta Ophiuchi among them.

The sim is deterministic. Same body, same opponent, same seed, same fight, down to the byte. Replays play back exactly, and a result can carry a share code. Every week the arena turns a new mutator, from Binary Suns to Debris Storm.

Grow it three ways

Win, and absorb your opponent's matter, elements and sometimes an ability. Push a body back into the forge with more mass behind it. Or collide two of your own and watch the merge: the more gravity in the room, the harder space-time rings. When a giant reaches its end it goes supernova, and the remnant of a big enough blast becomes a new incubator to grow the next star in.

77 gods ride with you

Bodies can carry a god: 77 deities from 25 traditions, from Roman and Norse to Yoruba, Hawaiian and Māori. Each brings one to three abilities of its own, on its own cooldowns. Sixty-seven share a name with something real in the sky, Jupiter on its planet, Sedna out past Neptune, Amaterasu on her asteroid, and those hit harder for it. Every one is a rare find: won off a rival, surfaced in a forge, thrown by a supernova, or waiting at a shrine on a passing rock.

Fly the Solar System

Send any body on a journey: in from the Oort cloud past Pluto, the giants and the asteroid belt to the Sun, then back out to the heliopause, 24 legs, and on into an endless galaxy road. Fly a leg yourself, steering through debris and ramming rocks for matter, or let it travel on its own. Bosses guard the road. Sixteen real probes wait to be found, Voyager 1 among them, and a body that passes a named moon at the right size can become an Io-class world.

The galaxy in one zoom

Open the Universe and fly through a whole galaxy of stellars. Pick one and zoom from the spiral arms all the way down to its living surface in one continuous move.

Online if you want it

In the full game, Battle > Online signs you in with Steam and puts your stellars against other players'. A fight counts toward your rating once our server has re-played it. Never open it and nothing is sent.

Fair by design

No ads, and nothing you can buy changes a fight. You start with 5 roster slots and grow to 10 through achievements and SP, battle energy comes back with time, and every element is unlocked by play. The forge keeps growing for two days while you are away.

Coming to Early Access

Stellar Forge is coming to Early Access, and you can shape it. Send feedback, in Settings and the pause menu, sends a bug report or an idea straight to us, and shows exactly what goes with it before you press Send.

Plays offline. Online PvP and Send feedback are optional and reach our server only when you use them. No ads, no pay-to-win.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some artwork in Stellar Forge was made with AI image generation tools and then selected and placed by the developer: the god portraits, many ability, item and menu icons, and some illustrations. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
