STELLAR FORGE - END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT
Effective date: 2026-11-01
Version: 2
Publisher: Nexude ("we", "us")
Contact: chilloutcloud@gmail.com
Software: Stellar Forge 1.0.0 for Windows (Steam), its free Windows demo, the Android app (com.nexude.stellarforge) and the iOS app
Please read this agreement before you play. It is written in plain language on purpose.
1. Accepting this agreement
When the game first starts it shows this agreement and the Privacy Policy, and asks you to agree. By selecting "I agree", or by installing or playing the software, you accept this agreement. If you do not agree, select "Decline and quit" and do not install or play the software.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must read and accept this agreement for you. The game is not directed at children under 13 (16 where local law requires).
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Stellar Forge on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment, for as long as this agreement is in force. The demo is licensed on the same terms at no charge. The software is licensed, not sold. Your own save data (section 6) is yours; nothing else is transferred to you.
You may not: sell, rent, lend or sublicense the software; distribute copies of it; remove or change any notice of ownership or licence; or use the software, its art, its audio or its data to train, tune or evaluate a machine-learning model, or as source material for a product that competes with it.
3. Ownership
Stellar Forge - its code, design, original text, art, music and sound, its invented names, and the selection and arrangement of its data - belongs to Nexude and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property law. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved. We claim no ownership of the names of real deities, nebulae, stars, planets or other celestial bodies; the game uses them descriptively and with respect.
4. Third-party works
Some art, audio and fonts are third-party works used under their own licences (CC0, the SIL Open Font License, and United States public-domain imagery from NASA). On Steam, the full game also uses the GodotSteam library and Valve's Steamworks SDK under their own licences. They are listed in the game under Settings > Credits and in THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.txt in the game's legal folder. Some portraits and photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under their own free licences, such as Creative Commons licences or the public domain; the game credits each one's author and licence. Those works stay under their own licences; nothing here narrows them, and none of their authors or agencies endorses this software. The scientists, engineers and missions named in the game's trivia and credits are named to honour their work; naming them does not mean that they, their families or their organisations endorse this software.
5. Fair play
You agree not to:
• modify, patch, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer the software, except where a law that applies to you expressly allows it;
• alter the save file, memory or clock of a device to change what the game grants you, or run tools that do so;
• extract, scrape, mine or republish the software's data, art, audio, text or generated content, beyond what the game shows you as you play;
• interfere with the online services described in section 7, where you use them.
6. Your save data
Your save data is yours. The game writes it as a local file on your device (on Windows: %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Stellar Forge\). You may copy, export, move, back up and delete it freely; Settings has an export and an import for exactly that. We make no copy of it and have no access to it. On Android the operating system may back it up to your own Google account under Google's terms; that copy is made by the operating system, not by us.
The demo and the full game read the same save folder, so your save carries over to the full game on the same PC. It does not move to another machine.
Keep your own backups. We cannot restore a save that is deleted, overwritten, corrupted or lost.
7. Online services
Achievements, the Steam overlay and optional add-on content are all checked locally: the game asks the Steam client already running on your PC, which answers from your own Steam account under Valve's policy (see the Privacy Policy). On Steam, the full game reports the achievements you earn to the Steam client on your PC, which keeps them on your Steam account.
The full game also offers online play: signing in with your existing Steam account (on Android, Google Play Games once online play opens there), putting your stellars forward and battling other players (friends and Clusters open in a later update). Using it sends data to our own server, described in the Privacy Policy's "Online play" section, which also covers how long we keep it and how to have it deleted. Online play is optional; not using it does not affect your licence to play the rest of the game. Rivals are simulated on your device unless you use online play.
• Online services. Online play is provided "as is". It may change, be paused or end, and access may need an internet connection and a platform account. A battle counts toward your rating once our servers have re-played it to check it; one they cannot re-play stays unranked.
• Conduct. No cheating, modified clients, exploiting bugs, botting, or offensive names. We may reset ratings, remove a profile from online play, or ban it for breaking these rules.
• Ads and purchases. The free mobile app may show ads unless Remove Ads is bought. Purchases go through the platform store and its refund rules (see the Refund Policy). In-game items, ratings and progress have no cash value and can't be sold or transferred.
• Player content. Your display name and the stellars you put forward are shown to other players. You give us permission to host and display them for the game.
• Feedback. Settings and the pause menu let you send us feedback, in every version of the game. It is sent only when you press Send; what is sent is in the Privacy Policy's "Feedback you send us" section, and how we may use your ideas is in the Terms and Conditions.
• Links. Credits and trivia can open pages on other sites (such as Wikipedia, YouTube and NASA) in your own web browser, only when you press a link and only for sites on the game's own allowed list. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies.
The free Windows demo has no Steam calls, no online play and no ads. It connects to our server only if you choose to send us feedback.
A later version that adds further online features will say so, publish updated terms and an updated Privacy Policy, and ask you to agree again before those features can be used.
8. Health and safety
The game contains flashing lights, flickering imagery and bright visual effects, and shows a photosensitivity warning each time it starts. If you or anyone in your family has an epileptic condition, consult a doctor before playing. Stop playing at once if you feel dizzy, have altered vision, eye or muscle twitching, disorientation or any involuntary movement, and consult a doctor. Take regular breaks. You play at your own risk to the extent the law allows.
9. The demo
The demo is free and is a limited version of the game (fewer elements, a smaller roster, a capped mass and a shorter journey). It may change, stop being available or stop being updated at any time. Nothing in the demo is a promise about the content, price or release date of the full game.
10. Warranty disclaimer
The software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title or non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law that applies to you permits. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with any particular device; the published system requirements are a documented baseline, not a warranty. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in this agreement limits rights you have as a consumer that the law says cannot be waived.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law that applies to you permits, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, save progress, profit or goodwill, arising out of or related to the software or this agreement, however caused. Our total liability for any claim relating to the software will not exceed the amount you paid for it (for the free demo, nothing). Where the law does not allow a limitation like this, our liability is limited to the smallest extent that law allows.
12. Termination
This agreement stays in force until it ends. It ends automatically if you breach it, and we may end it on notice if the software is withdrawn. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the software and deleting any copies. When it ends, the licence in section 2 stops; sections 3, 5, 6, 10, 11, 13 and 14 survive. Ending this agreement does not by itself affect your rights under the store's own terms, including any refund the store offers (see the Refund Policy).
13. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute under it will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, except where the consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring it elsewhere or to rely on its mandatory protections. If any part of this agreement is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
14. The stores' terms
Buying or downloading the game from a store is also governed by that store's terms: on Steam, the Steam Subscriber Agreement (https://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/); on Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service (https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/). Where this agreement and a store's terms conflict about the store, the store's terms win.
15. Changes
We may publish a revised agreement with a later version of the software. The game shows the revised text and asks you to agree before you continue playing; the agreement that shipped with a version continues to apply to that version. The effective date and version at the top identify the current text.
