Ce que l'équipe de développement a à dire :

Pourquoi choisir l'accès anticipé ?

« We want to develop Battles of Arunia with its players. Early Access gives us an opportunity to gather feedback on troop and Commander card balance, deck building, progression and the overall battle experience.

We also hope to involve interested community artists in improving the game's visual identity. Players who wish to contribute will be able to propose original artwork for consideration as replacements for in-game placeholder art, with permission and credit agreed before use.

Community feedback will help guide our priorities as we improve gameplay, artwork, presentation and usability. »

Pendant combien de temps environ ce jeu sera-t-il en accès anticipé ?

« We currently anticipate approximately three to four months in Early Access. This is an estimate rather than a fixed release date, and may change depending on development progress and player feedback. »

En quoi la version finale sera-t-elle différente de la version en accès anticipé ?

« We plan to expand the selection of troop and Commander cards, refine gameplay balance and progression, and improve the interface, animations and artwork.

We aim to replace placeholder art over time, including original contributions from interested community artists, with permission and credit agreed before use.

We also hope to develop the game's community features further. These plans and their priorities may change based on development progress and player feedback. »

Quel est l'état actuel de la version en accès anticipé ?

« Battles of Arunia currently includes turn-based tactical card battles, troop and Commander cards, deck building, card collection, training battles against bots, and player progression.

The game is still in development. Players should expect bugs, balance adjustments and changes to the interface and progression systems. Some artwork is placeholder art, which we aim to replace over time, including suitable original contributions from community artists. »

Le prix du jeu sera-t-il différent pendant et après l'accès anticipé ?

« We plan for Battles of Arunia to remain free to play during Early Access and after full release.

Optional paid Diamonds and Premium membership are planned. These purchases are not currently enabled. Their availability, pricing and benefits may change during development, and we intend to communicate changes clearly. »

Comment comptez-vous impliquer la communauté dans le processus de développement ?

« We plan to build a community across Discord, Reddit, YouTube and Steam Discussions. Discord and Reddit will provide places for players to discuss card balance, suggest improvements, report bugs and share artwork. YouTube will feature gameplay and development updates.

We also welcome interest from community artists who would like to propose original artwork to replace in-game placeholders. Contributions would be optional and reviewed for suitability, with permission and credit agreed before use.

These community spaces are being planned. We’ll add links as they become available and share how player feedback helps shape development. »

À propos de ce jeu

Welcome to Battles of Arunia, a free-to-play, turn-based strategy card game with online PvP.

You and your opponent each deploy six troops, then take turns moving and attacking. Defeat your opponent’s army so they have no troops left to win.

Troops have ranks from 0 to 10. Your six troops can have a combined rank of up to 10, so choose an army that suits your battling style.

Commander cards support your troops. You can use up to 12 in battle, setting three at a time.

BUILD YOUR ARMY

Create a deck of 15 Troops and 15 Commander Cards. Choose from Knights, Vikings, Samurai and Mercenaries, combining their strengths to suit your strategy.

MAKE POSITIONING MATTER

Where you place a troop matters. Protect vulnerable units, control attack ranges and use your front and back rows carefully. Allied shield troops can defend units beside or behind them, making a strong formation essential.

CHANGE THE COURSE OF BATTLE

Use Commander cards to support your army, disrupt opposing troops, equip weapons and armour, or affect the battlefield. Time your responses and make each action count.

PRACTISE AND EXPERIMENT

Play against training bots with different army types. Try new combinations, refine your deck and learn how troop abilities and Commander cards interact.

BUILD YOUR COLLECTION

Complete tasks and quests, earn rewards and expand your collection. Customise your Commander profile with portraits, borders and animated card backgrounds.

JOIN DURING EARLY ACCESS

Battles of Arunia is still developing. We plan to use player feedback to improve balance, refine the interface and guide future content. Some artwork is currently placeholder artwork and may change during development.

An internet connection is required to play, including battles against training bots.

HOW TO PLAY

Decks

Collect troop and commander cards to build your deck.

Each deck contains 15 troop cards and 15 commander cards. Before battle, choose six troops from your deck with a combined rank of no more than 10. Include different options so you can adapt your army to your opponent.

Troop Cards

Each troop has:

  • Rank: From 0 to 10, based on its strength.

  • Health: How much damage it can take before being defeated.

  • Three attacks or abilities: Different options to use in battle.

  • Range: How far its attacks can reach.

  • Movement: How far it can move each turn.

  • Faction: The group it belongs to.

Some factions provide bonuses that strengthen your troops. Read each faction’s bonus description to see how to activate it and what it does.

Commander Cards

Your deck contains 15 commander cards, but you can use up to 12 in each battle. Set three at a time. You must use or discard all three before setting the next three.

You can play a maximum of three commander cards during your own turn. Discarding does not use this allowance, and Counter cards played in response during your opponent’s turn are unrestricted.

  • Damage cards cost 1 coin and end your turn when played. They cannot be played on the opening turn of the battle; the player going second can use them.

  • Utility cards cost no coins and do not end your turn.

  • Equipment cards attach to your troops to give bonuses. They cost no coins and do not end your turn.

  • Counter cards respond to your opponent’s actions. They cost no coins and do not end your turn.

Discarding a commander card costs no coins and does not end your turn, but it does count towards your limit of 12.

Preparing for Battle

Scout your opponent’s deck to see which troops and commander cards they could bring into battle.

Choose six troops and move them into the Prepare for Battle slots. Their combined rank must be 10 or less.

Position your troops across the front and back rows. Think about their health, attack range and movement, and check whether your formation activates any faction bonuses.

Choose your first three commander cards, then get ready to battle.

Coins

Each player starts with 10 battle coins. Your troop’s three attacks or abilities cost 1, 2 or 3 coins, depending on which you choose.

Playing a Damage commander card costs 1 coin. Utility cards, Equipment cards, Counter cards and discarding commander cards cost no coins. Passing your turn costs 1 coin, or is free if you have none left.

After you spend your last coin, your coins refill to 10 at the start of your next turn. Troops that have attacked must normally wait until this reset before attacking again.

You can normally use only one 3-coin attack or ability across your army per coin cycle, unless a card effect allows another. A troop that uses its 3-coin attack or ability cannot use that option during the next coin cycle, but can still use its 1-coin and 2-coin options.

Battling

Take turns moving your troops and attacking the enemy. Use positioning and attack range to choose your targets and protect your army.

Play commander cards to support your troops, disrupt your opponent or counter an attack. Remember which cards end your turn and which allow you to keep playing.

Use or discard all three set commander cards before choosing another three. Keep track of your limit of 12—discarded cards count too.

Defeat your opponent’s army to win.

A note from the Developer

Battles of Arunia is my first game, built as a solo developer. I’m opening it up through Early Access so players can help shape its development. Feedback on card balance, bugs, confusing rules and features you’d like to see is especially welcome. Thank you for taking the time to play, please join the discord and share your thoughts.

L'équipe de développement décrit l'utilisation de contenu généré par IA dans le jeu comme suit.

Battles of Arunia uses AI-generated artwork created during development, including card illustrations, character portraits, backgrounds and interface artwork. We plan to replace some placeholder artwork during Early Access, including through voluntary community contributions used with permission. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
