The abandoned port of Old Yon. Bandits at the gates. You're a thief with no memory and a 200-mark debt. Pick pockets, sell to the fence before the loot goes stale, and save up for better gloves. Greed, Empathy and Paranoia argue in your head. Whatever you do, stay calm: anxiety draws the shadows.

About This Game

Idealism: It's a matter of principle!
Cynicism: What principle? Who the hell are you?

Those are the voices in your head arguing. Meanwhile, you've still got pockets to pick in a port taken over by bandits.

You woke up in a ditch and can't even remember your own name. Your hands, though, still remember how to slip into someone else's pocket.

The port of Old Yon, a town far behind the front line, was abandoned long ago. The gates are locked and the exits are held by a gang called the Salt Brotherhood. The Beggar from the local almshouse promises to get you out through a gap, if you work for him. And the Brotherhood hangs a debt on you from day one.

"Two hundred. To the barge. Be late, and Vano comes instead — and he can't count."

Pockets

Every pocket opens with its own minigame. Sometimes you have to catch the right moment, sometimes hook something out, or wait until nobody's looking. Slip up a couple of times and your mark starts yelling, runs for the police, or just punches you in the teeth.

Loot goes stale

Better take your haul to the fence right away. After a day it's worth next to nothing. Your bag is small, so things have to be turned and squeezed in. If you fall, the bag tears, and whatever sat in the torn slots is gone. The tailor will patch it up, for money.
The money goes into tools. You start with talc, then come hooks, tweezers, a scalpel, and a monocle that shows what pockets a passer-by has.

Voices

The voices in your head are actually your traits. Greed talks like a staff officer, Empathy calls you "darling", and Paranoia suggests ripping the handle off a door. They butt into every conversation and argue with each other.
Which voice gets louder is up to you. Strip people bare and Greed grows: the fence pays more, but your nerves go faster. Slip things back into pockets and Empathy grows. You run faster with her around, but haggling gets awkward.

Anxiety

Chases, dogs and botched thefts all pile up as anxiety. Fog rolls over the port, and things in your bag start to swim. Push yourself too far and shadows come out of the dark. Sleep helps.

The Port

You stand there staring at the door. The door stares back.
The patrolmen here drink right on duty. Hoarse will tell you all about the gang for a bottle, the Watchman makes up new rules out of boredom, and the gang boss Fox insists he's all for peace and diplomacy. Everyone here owes somebody, but you owe the most.

Wishlist the game so you don't miss the release.
