Hold the well. Hold back the dead.

Defend the Sacred Well is a single-player, top-down defense game blending action combat with skill-based builds. Command a Warden across a 3D battlefield, intercept waves of undead, and balance your own survival against the life of the well behind you.

Three heroes, three battlefields

Choose the Wellkeeper Warrior, Frost Oath Mage, or Wild Beastmaster, then defend The Hollow Garden, Monastery of Frost, or The Ashen Graves. Mix heroes and maps freely in the full game. Each map is a separate twenty-wave defense with its own terrain, threats, and boss encounters.

Build your way through every wave

Between waves, battle pauses while you buy, reroll, and combine skills. Experiment with 43 shared active and passive skills, additional mage and beastmaster abilities, and 16 alliances with distinct synergy effects. Combine three matching skills of the same star level to upgrade them, up to three stars. Level your hero to unlock more skill slots, strengthen the well, and decide how much gold to spend on skills, attributes, or emergency supplies.

Take command of the defense

Move, focus targets, dash out of danger, and choose between manual and automatic skill casting. Adapt to fast attackers, armored guards, exploding enemies, and summoners. Read the warning zones and respond to boss slams, charges, and volleys before they overwhelm the well. Optional automatic defense and adjustable battle speed let you change the pace while keeping build and supply decisions in your hands.

Beyond twenty waves

Clear a map, then choose to continue into Endless Mode with your current build. Each additional wave brings more enemies and stronger opponents. See how long your defense can hold.

Experiment, recover, and return

Play with English or Simplified Chinese interfaces. Consult the skill, alliance, enemy, and hero codices, pause to rearrange your build, and use local autosaves to continue an unfinished expedition. Try another hero, a different map, or a new combination of skills on your next defense.
