Why Early Access?

“Deviant District is a live social game. It only works with real people on stage and in the seats. Early Access lets the first hosts, performers and audiences shape game rules, moderation tools, and the venue roadmap while the District is still small enough to listen to everyone.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect one month to finalize the Haha House (comedy club), Primal Ball (3v3 rugby), Kangaroo Court (parody trials) and the Drunk Skunk Tavern (TTRPG) as our mini-games for initial release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version adds more polish to three District venues: the Drunk Skunk tavern, Kangaroo Court, and the Coliseum with the Primal Ball rugby-type sport. It also adds performer analytics and discovery, and a larger avatar wardrobe. Moderation, recording export, and stage tools we expect to be mature by launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Four complete venues: the comedy club with stage, host controls, timed sets, audience reactions, and green room, plus the open-world District street to explore between sets. Several animal avatars with voice-driven facial animation and emotes. Windows only.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're not planning on changing the price at launch. The base price includes the four mini-games as the primary game, with more mini-game / hangout areas later added on at a very modest price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Playtest keys go to the YouTube community, and comics first. Feedback comes through Steam discussions and the PetrichorCG YouTube channel, where development is shown openly. Stage rule changes are announced before they ship. If you want to see another "mini-game" added in future version of Deviant District, we'll listen to feedback and might even build it in to our open world!”

About This Game

A comedy club that runs on your voice

Don't have time to make it to an open mic night IRL? That's fine. Pick an animal avatar, walk out under the lights, and perform. Your microphone drives your character's mouth and face in real time. Gestures and emotes are one key away. A real audience hears you, sees you, and answers back.

Every set has rules

  • Book or queue for a timed set. The host controls the stage, the mic, and the light cues.

  • The audience reacts, votes after they have actually watched you, and follows performers they like.

  • Heckling only happens when the room allows it, and only with permission.

Human audience count is always shown. Animal NPC seat-fillers never vote.

Backstage and the District

Warm up in the green room. Walk the open-world District at night, visit the Mind Goblin's shop, and find the club door. The comedy club is the premier venue that ships in Early Access.
