What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Binding Order is a playable horror investigation and exorcism game that is still in active development. We want players to help shape the pacing of investigations, the clarity of evidence and exorcisms, entity behaviour, equipment progression, and cooperative play. Early Access lets us test and improve those systems with feedback from real sessions while continuing to polish the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Binding Order to remain in Early Access for approximately six months from its Early Access launch. This is an estimate, not a fixed release deadline. The timeframe may change depending on player feedback, multiplayer stability, performance, and development progress. We will communicate significant changes through Steam.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to improve multiplayer reliability, performance, animations, audio, and the clarity of investigations and entity-specific exorcisms. We also intend to expand and refine room layouts, environmental detail, entity behaviours, scares, equipment tiers, and customization. The scope and priorities may change in response to testing and community feedback; these are development goals, not guaranteed additions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current development version supports solo play and cooperative sessions for up to six players. Players investigate procedurally generated locations across mortuary, clinic, and archive themes, gather evidence with investigation tools, identify the entity, and attempt an entity-specific exorcism. It includes hunts, hiding, cursed objects, equipment progression, and proximity and radio voice chat. The game is unfinished: bugs, multiplayer synchronization problems, loading or performance issues, and rough visual or audio presentation may still occur. Balance and progression can change during development, and preservation of saves is not guaranteed. Please judge the purchase on the playable content available now, not planned features.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price for the full release as the game gains content and polish. The Early Access price will be lower than our planned full-release price. We will announce any price increase in advance through Steam.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will use Steam Discussions to collect bug reports, gameplay feedback, and suggestions. Reports that include the game version, whether you were hosting or joining, steps to reproduce the issue, and screenshots or logs where appropriate will help us investigate. We will use that feedback to guide development priorities and share progress through Steam announcements.”

About This Game

Identifying it is only the beginning.

Enter an abandoned site alone or with a crew of up to six investigators. Track paranormal activity, gather evidence, and decide what you are facing. Then return with specialist equipment and attempt to break the entity's hold on the location.

Investigate before you commit

Read instruments, leave tools to observe activity, and compare evidence in your journal. Explore procedurally generated mortuaries, clinics, and archives. The entity's activity and your crew's decisions shape each investigation.

Your diagnosis determines your equipment

A correct identification unlocks equipment suited to the entity's weaknesses. A wrong identification reveals the true answer, but leaves your crew facing a more aggressive entity with the wrong specialist kit. Identification is a turning point, not the end of the contract.

Finish the binding

Each entity calls for a different exorcism. Carry objects, prepare the required apparatus, and complete the work while the entity interferes and hunts. Equipment progression and tool tiers give your crew new ways to prepare for later assignments.

Stay together. Know when to hide.

Coordinate with proximity voice and crew radios, watch for signs of a hunt, and use doors and hiding places to escape. Radio communication is disrupted during hunts. Solo play is also available.

An unfinished game in active development

Early Access builds may contain bugs, loading or performance issues, and multiplayer synchronization problems. Content, balance, and progression may change. See the Early Access answers above for the current development goals and limitations.

The developers describe the content like this:
