Great Lakes Captain is a first-person maritime simulation game where you begin with small boats and work your way up to commanding massive commercial vessels across the Great Lakes.

Take the helm, leave port, and build your career one voyage at a time. Navigate open water, busy harbors, narrow channels, bridges, docks, and changing weather as your vessels grow larger and the responsibility increases.

Start with smaller recreational and utility boats while learning the fundamentals of navigation and vessel handling. Earn your way into larger working boats, tugboats, and eventually enormous lake freighters that require careful planning, patience, and precision to maneuver safely.

The Great Lakes are more than just open water. Ports, lighthouses, industrial shorelines, shipping channels, bridges, changing visibility, waves, wind, and weather make every trip feel different. What feels easy in a small boat becomes a completely different challenge when hundreds of feet of ship are behind you.
