Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“For a game centered around exploration, building, and automation, the pacing and balance between different systems are especially important. We hope to use Early Access to gather player feedback at an early stage, while continuing to expand the game and refine exploration pacing, production efficiency, controls, and the way different systems connect with one another.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game to remain in Early Access for around one year. The actual duration may change depending on development progress and player feedback. Rather than committing to a fixed date for leaving Early Access, we would prefer to enter the full release once the game’s core content has reached the level of completeness we are aiming for.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to feature a more complete story and exploration-building progression, more underground areas and exploration content, a more developed automation and logistics system, as well as a wider variety of equipment, buildings, and collectibles.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay framework of Starward Era is already largely in place, including underground exploration, resource gathering, equipment progression, base building, power and oxygen networks, and automated production. The current version already supports the complete core gameplay loop of:
Explore → Dig → Gather Resources → Build a Base → Improve Production Efficiency → Explore Deeper”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As more content is added to the game, we plan to gradually increase the price at major development milestones. The initial Early Access price will be relatively lower.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will continue to closely follow suggestions, bug reports, and gameplay feedback from the Steam Community. Feedback regarding exploration pacing, automation efficiency, quality-of-life improvements, and overall system balance may directly influence adjustments made in future updates.”

About This Game

Starward Era is a 2D side-scrolling exploration, mining, and automation game set on a distant world.

Start with limited equipment and resources, then dig your way beneath the surface, gather materials, discover new areas, and gradually establish a base of your own.

As you progress, upgrade your equipment, expand your production network, connect power and oxygen systems, and use drones to automate resource transportation. Tasks that once had to be done by hand can gradually become part of an efficient, automated operation—giving you more freedom to explore, build, and push deeper into the planet.

Explore Deeper

Beneath the surface lie different resources, underground environments, bodies of water, and areas waiting to be discovered.

As you descend, new materials and challenges will appear. Improve your equipment and unlock new ways to reach places that were previously inaccessible.

From Manual Work to Automation

At the beginning, most resources have to be mined, transported, and processed by hand.

As your base develops, you can construct production facilities, establish power and oxygen networks, and build an automated logistics system using drones.

Step by step, repetitive manual work becomes automated, allowing you to spend more of your time exploring and expanding.

Build Your Own Base

Construct production machines, power facilities, storage systems, logistics infrastructure, teleporters, and more.

There is no single correct way to build your base. Create a compact and efficient production hub, spread your facilities across the underground world, or simply expand at your own pace.

Upgrade Your Equipment

Better mining tools, larger backpacks, improved survival equipment, and specialized modules will gradually change the way you explore the world.

As your abilities improve, areas that once seemed unreachable will open up to you.

Explore, Build, and Go Further

Mining is only the beginning.

From a small underground outpost to an increasingly complex planetary base, every expedition and every new machine you build helps prepare you for what lies ahead.
