What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Football Ambition 27 simulates 5,998 clubs and 131,993 players every day of
every season. That is far more football than one developer can play through
alone, and the problems worth fixing are the ones that only surface when
thousands of people run their own saves for months at a time.

I would rather balance this game against how people actually play it than
against how I imagine they will. Early Access is how I get that. It also
matters most for the part of the game I want to grow furthest, the story the
world tells about your club, because what is worth reading about your season
is a question players can answer better than I can.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I am aiming for around three months, with updates arriving throughout rather
than all at the end.

That is an estimate rather than a promise. If what players find means the
game needs longer to be what it should be, it will take longer. I would
rather leave Early Access when the game is ready than on a date I picked
before anybody had played it.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to use Early Access to deepen what is already here rather than bolt
new modes onto the side.

The biggest of those is the story the world tells about you. The news desk
and the social media platform already react to results, transfers and
sackings. I plan to grow them into something that follows a season properly,
with storylines that run, rivalries that build, reporters with an angle, and
a reputation shaped by what gets written about you.

I also plan to keep improving the transfer market, the finance system and the
youth system, and the tools for building and sharing databases and scenarios,
led by what players ask for most. And to keep fixing what the community
finds, which on a simulation this size is work that does not really stop.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is complete and playable from end to end today. You can found a club
or take one over, play full seasons, work the transfer market, run the
finances, bring players through the academy, follow the world's reaction on
the social platform, edit any database, build scenarios, and publish all of
it to the Steam Workshop. Nothing described on this page is a placeholder or
a plan.

What Early Access means here is a game still being tuned. A simulation this
large will throw up bugs and balance quirks that only appear deep into long
saves, and I will be fixing those in the open, with the people finding them.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I am not planning to change the price when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Discord is where this gets decided. It is where bug reports land, where
balance gets argued about, and where I post what I am working on before I
build it rather than after.

The Steam forums and the Workshop matter just as much. Every database and
scenario somebody publishes tells me which parts of the football world people
actually care about, and a save that has gone wrong is usually more useful to
me than one that has gone right. I would rather hear about it.”

About This Game

Football Ambition 27 is a football management game about running the whole club, not just picking the team. Found a club from nothing and build it into something worth watching, or take an existing one and answer to the people who own it.

5,998 clubs. 131,993 players. 473 competitions across 214 countries, from the top of Europe down to the sixth tier of England. All of it runs whether you are looking or not. Clubs you have never heard of sign players, sack managers, run out of money and win things while you are busy with your own season.

A match comes to you as the moments that decide it, minute by minute, with the clock running. There is no 3D pitch here and there was never going to be one.

Start the way you want to. Take over an existing club with its existing squad, drop into the lowest tier with a handful of players, or build a brand new club from nothing.

Play the world realistically or turn the realism down. And choose how the game ages around you: players retire and the world regenerates young, the way Master League did, or fresh players emerge over time the way Career Mode does.

Computer controlled clubs weigh their finances, their squad needs and their playing style before they buy or sell. A club will not hand over a key player because you bid high, and it will not sign someone it has nowhere to put. Fees and wages come from where a player actually stands in the game, not from a number typed into a table.

On deadline day the clock runs in two hour blocks. Answers come back the same afternoon, players leave before midnight, and the club that said no at nine might say yes at four.

Budgets come from what the club is genuinely worth. Revenue comes from the gate, the broadcast deal, the sponsors and what you sold. Money spent on a stand is money not spent on a striker, and the stand takes months to open before it earns a penny back.

Safe to spend is the only number that matters. Go past it and the answer is no.

Every young player from the age of 14 already belongs to an academy. Find someone special and you negotiate with the academy that holds them, against every other club that spotted them too. Some come good, some never do. Youth is a long route into a squad, not a shortcut to being rich.

An immersive social media system. Supporters, rival fans, reporters, aggregator accounts, commentary acounts will talk about your club and players.

Every account is a person with a temperament. Follow the ones worth reading, turn the bell on for the ones you cannot miss, and watch the following grow or collapse with the results.

Cut a scenario out of any database and set the world where you want it. Put the table where you like, play by hand the fixtures you care about, and let the game settle the rest of the season around them.

Then start from that moment. Name it, save it, and put it on the Workshop for everybody else.

Clubs, players, nations, sponsors, tactics, coaches, etc load from versioned data you are allowed to edit. Badges, kits and logos resolve from your folder before the shipped ones, so an update can never delete your work.

A whole database is one file. Publish it to the Steam Workshop as a single item, and subscribe to somebody else's to have it land in your game ready to play.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some of the artwork that ships with Football Ambition 27 was made using
generative AI tools. That covers the club badges and competition logos in
the default database, the menu and screen backgrounds, the stadium and
facility illustrations, and the library of face parts the game builds
portraits from. The national flags are not among them.

Faces are built while you play. Every player, coach and youth prospect gets
a portrait the moment they exist, including people generated seasons into
your save, assembled by the game from that shipped library of parts. It is
ordinary code doing the assembling, not an AI model, and it can only ever
use art that came with the game.

All gameplay is human made. The simulation, the match engine, the
competition rules and every line of written text in the game were written
by people, and no AI model runs while you play.

The game does not connect to any AI service. There is an optional feature,
switched off by default, that lets you connect your own AI chat assistant
to the in game database editor, so it can help with jobs like renaming
clubs or building a scenario. It runs only if you turn it on, and it only
reaches your own files on your own computer.
