What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a solo indie developer creating my first game, I want to build it alongside the community. Early Access allows me to gather feedback, improve the experience, and make sure the final game is as fun and engaging as possible for players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand significantly on the Early Access experience, with additional game modes, more polished and sophisticated animations, and potentially a larger roster of playable characters. Planned future content may include a single-player campaign-style experience, asymmetrical game modes, and other features shaped by community feedback throughout development. My goal is to continue refining and expanding the game to deliver a deeper and more engaging experience for players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“While the game has not yet been released, the Early Access version will be fully playable and feature its core gameplay systems from day one. This includes procedurally generated dungeons, online PvP deathmatches, multiple playable characters, proximity voice chat, and the game's fundamental combat mechanics, including abilities such as pouncing.

The goal of Early Access is to provide a solid gameplay foundation while gathering community feedback to help shape future content, features, and improvements.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price is expected to increase as new content and features are added throughout development. Even after the increase, I plan to keep the game at a low price point to encourage more players to join and help maintain active online matchmaking.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As a solo developer, I want the community to play an active role in shaping the game. I want to learn what players like, what they don't like, and where they feel development time is best spent.

In particular, I'm interested in exploring different game modes and discovering the most fun and engaging ways to expand on the game's physics-based features. Player feedback will be a key factor in deciding the direction of future updates.”

About This Game

You and your friends are insatiably hungry, man-made monsters. The only thing left to eat is each other.

NightMaw blends competitive, physics-driven movement with stealth horror. Every Gorbulon is both predator and prey, hunting while being hunted in turn.

See your unsuspecting prey and pounce — launching yourself open-mouthed to swallow them whole. But clash with another pouncing player, and you'll bounce off each other, forced to curl up in a ball, both vulnerable to a potential third rival.

Staying hidden isn't easy, either. Tuck into a ball to move in silence, or sprint for speed — but your glowing eyes can give away your position in the dark. Every growl, footstep, and breath is a risk — make noise and get found, stay too quiet, and even your own breathing can betray you.
