Before the hammer falls, you have clues—not a full inventory.

Black-market cargo lots mix worn equipment, spare parts, collectibles, and sealed containers. A visible shape may be worthless, while the item you care about could be inside a box or tray. Read the condition and rival buyers, decide whether to bid, and choose when to stop.

Mystery Cargo: Auction Tycoon is a single-player blind-auction and business game. Winning a lot is only the start: you still need to manage the cash, warehouse space, and opportunities it creates.

Read the goods—and the room

Before each auction, choose one way to observe: inspect an item, watch a buyer, or act uninterested. Each approach offers different clues and changes the auction conditions. Once bidding starts, follow who raises, hesitates, or leaves. Buyers have different preferences, but their offers are not a final appraisal of the whole lot.

Raise gradually, bid aggressively, set a proxy-bidding limit, or walk away. You pay only when you win. A winning bid also means taking on the lot's costs and risks.

The whole lot, revealed at your pace

After the auction, the cargo appears together on one board. Scratch the items you want to inspect. To move faster, reveal the goods already exposed; closed boxes, drawers, and trays stay shut until you choose to open them.

Start with the item on your mind, or work through the whole lot. Each discovery updates what you know. An estimate is only a guide: the market and buyers determine what you can actually sell for.

Lose the lot? The leftovers may still be in play.

Sometimes a rival wins the container and takes the items they want. The actual goods left behind—and the traces of what was searched—can become a picked-over lot and return to the auction. It comes from that same container, not a rerolled reward. Read what's left and decide whether to bid again.

Sell, keep, or wait for a set to come together

Review the goods, keep selected finds in your warehouse or personal space, and sell the rest together. Stored items can fill a set or support future business plans. Keeping one means giving up its immediate sale proceeds and using limited space.

An estimate is not money in hand. Bids, operating costs, buyer offers, and warehouse space all shape your next move. Do the numbers, choose the right yard, and look for another opportunity. Sometimes walking away, selling a favorite, or skipping the last piece is the better deal.
