About This Game

Every world you own grows forces. Fling them at the next one.

Nova distills real-time strategy to its purest loop. Simple to grasp, deep to master, and played entirely with one mouse. No build orders, no menus mid match. Just the board, your fleets, and the clock.

Outthink the galaxy

Seven rival factions fight a free for all, and they will turn on each other as readily as on you. Read the board, pick your moment, and cascade across the map before they consolidate. Combat rewards concentration, so the fleet you hold back is worth more than the one you split.

A galaxy that fights back

Route fleets through teleport portals that skip every hazard in between. Garrison fortified stations that shoot down anything passing within range. Thread the needle past black holes that swallow whole squads, asteroid belts that grind down every fleet that crosses them, and stars that burn away anything left parked in the light. Hold the frozen worlds of the Long Cold and your troops bleed out just standing there.

144 hand built levels, never a static board

Worlds orbit on rings, ellipses, figure eights and stranger curves, so the map you plan against is not the map you arrive at. Twelve chapters, each introducing new bodies and new ways to lose. Hand built levels, not procedural filler.

Grow between runs

A constellation of nine skills, each with nine ranks, earned by finishing levels and spent however you like. Three difficulties, and a campaign that pays out more the harder you take it. Respec costs you nothing, so an experiment is never a punishment.

Something is waking up

Beat a chapter and the board starts answering back. The Dark erupts out of the black holes themselves and takes the middle of the map, and on the last worlds of the game it comes hunting you.

In the box

  • 144 levels across 12 chapters, on three difficulties
  • Seven rival factions, each with its own temperament
  • A persistent skill tree of nine skills and nine ranks each
  • 39 achievements and a codex of all 33 elements in the game
  • Black holes, asteroid belts, portals, stations, burning stars and frozen ground
  • One mouse. Instant to learn

A note from the developer

Nova is my first commercial game, and I built it solo. Every one of its levels is one I placed by hand and played until it felt right.

If it looks like something you would enjoy, a wishlist genuinely helps a game this small get seen. And if you play it and something feels off, or you think of something that would make it better, I want to hear it. I read everything that comes in, and I would rather fix a thing than defend it.

Thank you for taking a look.
