About This Game

Stab to load. Shoot to kill.

Your rifle does not reload itself. Every bayonet strike that lands loads rounds, a kill loads two more, and the first shot from a full magazine is always a critical hit. Rounds loaded by a stab are blooded — and the right build makes them hit much harder. Close in, strike, step back, fire: that rhythm is every fight in Bloodloader.

Take your flight back

You fell. Your wings are still on your back, burned black, and they no longer lift you — the Redeemer plucked the flight out of them and wears it as feathers deep in the Obsidian. Climb through the Ash Reaches, the Hoarfrost and the Glass Dunes to reach him, and shoot those feathers off him one by one.

Features

  • A bayonet and a rifle. 6 bayonets and 8 rifles, each rifle with its own magazine, and each one changes how you fight: shots that bounce, pierce, chain or explode, a spinning twin axe, a hammer that slams enemies into walls. Mods add behaviours, not percentages.
  • Four old powers. Ember, Rime, Gale and Iron offer 35 favours between them — burning, freezing and shattering, wind-driven dashes, armour and stagger. Commit to one, or weave two together.
  • Four realms, four bosses. Each realm has its own enemies and its own hazard — lava, slowing ice, drifting sand, spikes — and ends with a boss that changes as it weakens: the Cinder Behemoth, the Hoarfrost Matriarch, Sandmaw and the Redeemer.
  • Deaths you can read. Every attack is telegraphed before it lands, and the recap after a death names what killed you and the last hits you took.
  • Short runs. Twelve stages in 25–35 minutes. Doors show their reward before you choose, the Merchant waits between stages, and you can carry up to 8 relics.
  • Grow between runs. Tears earned in every run buy 16 permanent upgrades in the Vigil. Earn the tokens of the powers, fill the bestiary, keep your records — and try the daily descent, one shared seed a day.
  • Controller and Steam Deck. Full gamepad support with aim assist, and keyboard and mouse.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Bloodloader was made by one developer with generative AI tools in the pipeline. Character, enemy and item sprites, tiles, icons and the store key art began as AI generations (PixelLab) and were selected, cleaned up, recoloured and assembled by the developer. Sound effects and music were generated with ElevenLabs and edited into final effects and seamless loops. Some in-game text was drafted with AI assistance and edited by the developer. Nothing is generated while you play.
