Halloween Update!

Halloween is right around the corner, so we’ve put together a pretty substantial update for the Midnight Moving Crew demo! Based on a lot of the feedback we’ve received over the past few weeks, we’ve overhauled a few core systems, added new ghost hunting tools, and squashed some annoying bugs.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:

Multiple Ghost Types & Detection Equipment

Houses are no longer just haunted by a generic entity—we’ve introduced multiple distinct ghost types to the game. To help you figure out what kind of ghost you’re dealing with on a job, you can now buy and use four new pieces of detection gear:

  • EMF Reader

  • Thermometer

  • Geiger Counter

  • Decibel Meter

Gather your evidence, figure out the ghost type, and plan your move accordingly.

Kill Prevention Items & QoL Improvements

Once you know what ghost you're up against, you can purchase protection. We've added 3 new kill prevention items, with each item blocking two specific ghost types from killing you.

  • QoL tweak: You don't have to keep holding prevention items for them to work anymore. You can now drop them on the floor nearby while you load furniture, and they'll still protect the area.

In-Map Store Purchasing

You can now buy basic equipment like Flashlights and Walkie Talkies directly from the in-map store after you’ve already loaded into a match, so you won't be completely out of luck if you forget to gear up beforehand.

Fusebox Overhaul

A lot of you mentioned that having the fusebox flip off every time a hunt triggered felt more frustrating than scary or fun. We agreed!

Hunts will no longer turn off the main fuse box. Instead, when a hunt starts, all the light switches in the building will flip off. You'll just need to flick the switches back on rather than running all the way back to the breaker.

Bug Fixes

  • Couch Carrying Physics: Fixed the issue where carrying a couch would get players stuck or cause them to clip directly into walls.

  • Missing Hub Items: Fixed a bug where gear brought back from a run wasn't returning to the hub inventory for re-use.

Thanks again to everyone who has been playing the demo and dropping feedback in the discussions! Give the new update a run and let us know how the new gear feels.

Happy Halloween!

About This Demo

Survive the Shift

This isn't your average cozy simulator. Packing a house takes efficiency and a high tolerance for the supernatural. Test your skills in this demo as you coordinate with your crew to pack up fragile items, move heavy furniture, and tape up boxes while keeping an eye on the shadows. The house’s lingering occupants don’t take kindly to you touching their stuff, and the longer you stay inside, the angrier they get.

Demo Features

  • 1-4 Player Online Co-op: Brave the night shift completely alone or team up with up to three friends to divide and conquer the moving list.

  • 3 Playable Locations: Sample the horror across three distinct, highly haunted maps designed to test your efficiency under extreme pressure.

  • Core Haunting Mechanics: Experience unpredictable entities with distinct behaviors, triggers, and terrifying ways to end your shift permanently.

  • Essential Equipment: Test out the basic tools of the trade—from cardboard boxes and tape to flashlights and paranormal detection gear.

EMPLOYEE NOTICE: Midnight Moving Crew is not responsible for any loss of sanity, spectral possession, or spontaneous termination of life incurred during this trial period. Lift with your legs, not your back.
