Welcome to the NSA — the National Shredding Agency. Your job: destroy classified files, one sheet at a time. Feed the shredder, hit your quota, climb the ranks. And whatever you do, don't read the paperwork. Some files were never meant to be destroyed.

Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Shred Inc. lives or dies by two things: how the shredding feels, and how well the secrets hide inside the busywork. Neither can be tuned in isolation. The core loop — shred, upgrade, automate — is already running, and I want players' hands on it while I build the story layer on top, so the pacing of the grind and the payoff of what's buried in the files get shaped by people actually playing it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around six months. If feedback points to features worth building properly rather than rushing, that may move — I'd rather extend than ship the full version half-finished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version adds the layer Early Access only hints at: a story running through the documents you destroy, more departments and document types, further equipment tiers and deeper automation, and a fuller set of achievements. Early Access is the loop. The full version is the loop and what's hiding inside it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core loop is playable end to end: shred documents by hand, earn money, buy upgrades, and unlock partial automation that keeps working while you deal with the next stack. It's already an idle/incremental game you can put hours into. Some achievements are already in; more are coming. Not in yet: the narrative layer and the wider range of document types and departments.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will go up when Shred Inc. leaves Early Access and the full content lands. Buying during Early Access gets you the full version at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam discussion boards and the community hub. I'm especially after feedback on how the shredding feels, how the upgrade and automation curve paces out, and which secrets players actually notice. Every update and what went into it gets posted as a Steam announcement.”

About This Game

A career in public service. Sort of.

Congratulations, citizen, on your appointment to the National Shredding Agency. Your desk is in the basement. Your shredder is government-issue. Your quota is non-negotiable.

Every day you receive documents. At the end of your shift they have to be gone. That's the job. That's the whole job.

Feed the machine

  • Real-time, hands-on shredding — grab, align, feed, listen to it bite
  • Staples, paper clips, binder spines: the shredder has opinions about all of them
  • Meet your daily quota, earn your performance review, unlock better equipment
  • Upgrade from a wheezing desktop unit to industrial-grade destruction

Don't read the paperwork

Most of what crosses your desk is procurement forms and expense reports. Most of it. Every so often a page catches your eye — a redacted name, a memo that shouldn't exist, an internal audit someone very much wanted gone.

You can shred it and go home on time. Or you can start a folder of your own.

Features

  • Physics-driven shredding you actually do with your hands
  • A bureaucracy that rewards obedience and punishes curiosity
  • Secrets buried in the paperwork, for players who slow down and look
  • Single-player, mouse & keyboard, short sessions

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Parts of the artwork and audio in Shred Inc. — including textures, images and sound effects — were created using generative AI tools and then reviewed and edited by hand. The same applies to some of the store page and marketing material. No content is generated by AI during gameplay, and the game does not connect to any external AI service.
