Marco Polo, but your friends can hear you panic. Hide as a Noisemaker or hunt as the blindfolded Noisechaser. Every footstep, sneeze and open-mic laugh reveals a splash of color. Hold your breath, dodge the dive and make someone else the loudest person in the room.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“MARCO is built around the unpredictable things that happen when friends try to stay quiet together. As a solo developer, I want feedback from more groups of players to help shape that experience.

Early Access gives me an opportunity to refine the balance between Noisemakers and Noisechasers, improve how the maps play, and explore which interactive props and noisy distractions are the most fun.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect MARCO to remain in Early Access for approximately one to two months. This is an estimate, and the timing may change depending on player feedback and any issues discovered during development.

My priorities are reliable multiplayer, consistent tagging, and a fun balance between hiding, hunting, and making trouble.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to improve multiplayer reliability, performance, animations, sound balance, and the consistency of tagging and movement.

I also intend to refine the existing maps and explore additional interactive props, voice effects, and environmental distractions. Community feedback will help determine which ideas fit MARCO best and where development effort should go.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“MARCO’s core multiplayer hide-and-seek experience is playable. Players can host and join Steam lobbies, hide as Noisemakers, and hunt as blindfolded Noisechasers who track sound through colored splashes.

The game includes proximity voice chat, MARCO/POLO calls, breath-holding, close-range tags, diving tags, and infection-style rounds where caught players join the hunt. Playable environments include the Marco Rec Center and MARCO Market, with interactive props, throwable objects, and voice-changing distractions.

The game is still being refined. Players may encounter bugs, collision issues, and uneven balance while multiplayer behavior, movement, tagging, and presentation receive further work.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“MARCO will have a lower price during Early Access. I currently plan to increase the price when the game reaches its full release, reflecting the improvements and content added during development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to use Steam Discussions and playtest feedback to gather bug reports, balance suggestions, and ideas for props and map interactions.

I’m especially interested in hearing where players get stuck, when a tag feels unfair, which sounds are difficult to judge, and what creates the funniest moments with friends. I plan to share development updates and patch notes so players can see what has changed and how their feedback is influencing the game.”

About This Game

The Noisechaser can’t see you. They can see your noise.

One player becomes the blindfolded Noisechaser. Everyone else is a Noisemaker, hiding with their mic open and trying desperately to stay quiet.

Every whisper, footstep, sneeze and badly timed laugh leaves a splash of your color in the grey world—a fleeting clue to your location. Keep moving, cover your mouth and choose your route carefully. Your friends might help you escape. They might also throw a basketball at you.

Then comes the call: MARCO!

Every Noisemaker answers POLO! Unless you can hold it in.

Stay quiet. Make trouble. Try not to laugh.

  • Hide in plain sight. Noisemakers are invisible to the Noisechaser. The sounds you make give you away.

  • Your microphone is part of the game. Whisper to your friends, shout a warning or accidentally laugh yourself into trouble.

  • MARCO… POLO! Force a response from hiding players. Cover your mouth to resist, but your breath won’t last forever.

  • Tag or take the dive. Catch someone up close or commit to a diving lunge. Miss, and give your friends something else to laugh about.

  • Get caught. Join the hunt. Caught Noisemakers become Noisechasers. Every capture leaves fewer places to hide.

  • Watch your step. Carpet, tile, wet floors and ball pits turn your route into a noisy decision.

  • Sabotage encouraged. Squeaky helium voices, throwable basketballs and rattling shopping carts can turn a quiet escape into everyone’s problem.

  • Quick rounds with friends. Play with 4–10 players in 2–4 minute rounds.

Microphone required. Your voice is a core gameplay mechanic.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

MARCO is made by a solo developer. Its characters, core concepts, and art direction are my original work.
I used AI tools, guided by my own artwork and creative direction, to help create additional 3D models, props, textures, concept art, and some store-page and marketing images. I reviewed, selected, and refined these assets to fit MARCO’s style before including them.
No content is generated by AI during gameplay.
As a solo developer with limited time and resources, these tools helped me turn a game I’d imagined for years into something people can actually play.
