From its cozy bed, Knead watches over a human who sits too much. When you’ve been sitting too long, this grumpy cat pops up to cause mischief, turn on the charm, and distract you from work. It isn’t being naughty—it just wants to get you out of your chair so you can move around and feel better.

About This Demo

WHAT'S IN THIS DEMO

In this demo, Knead keeps you company on your desktop, comes out to invite you when it is time for a break, and guides you through simple, desk-friendly movements. You can also care for it, watch it grow, leaf through your shared journal, and look forward to letters from its travels and mysterious gifts when it returns.

MEET KNEAD

Knead is a small Abyssinian with a permanently unimpressed face. It sprawls over a ball of yellow yarn in the corner of your Windows desktop, quietly watching over a human who spends a little too long at the computer.

Most of the time, it sleeps peacefully. But when it is time for a little movement, it knows exactly how to make itself noticed.

A LITTLE MISCHIEF, FOR A REASON

Knead is not another quiet notification.

It peeks over the edge of your window, or clings on and gives the window a tiny shake.

It steals a little attention on purpose—just enough to break through your focus and lure you away from your work for a moment. Each interruption is brief, playful, and unmistakably feline.

A FEW MINUTES, THEN BACK TO WORK

Interacting with Knead opens a compact guided-movement window. It demonstrates one simple, desk-friendly movement at a time, accompanied by a short instruction and timer.

A little stretch, a little movement, and a short break becomes a moment together. Afterwards, you can return to whatever you were doing.

A LITTLE MOVEMENT, A LITTLE GROWTH

Usually, Knead is the one looking out for you. You can look after it too, with a little food in its bowl and some fresh water beside it.

The moments you spend moving and caring for it help it grow, and find their way into your shared journal. Every now and then, you can turn back a few pages and see how much time you have spent together.

COME THE WEEKEND, IT HAS PLANS OF ITS OWN

On weekends and holidays, you can plan a little journey for Knead on its hand-drawn map. While you take some time away from work, it gets to see the world beyond your desktop.

A journey usually lasts a full weekend or holiday break. It will generally send a letter on the first day, letting you know how life on the road is treating it.

When it comes home, there will be mysterious gifts tucked away in its bag. What they are can wait until you are together again.

NOT NOW? A LITTLE LATER

When the timing is not right, Knead can wait a little longer. It goes back to rest for a while before coming to find you again.

The cat may be persistent, but it still knows when to give you room. The timing of the break remains in your hands.

QUIET COMPANY, TOO

For a meeting, screen sharing, or simply a little quiet, you can temporarily hide Knead and bring it back when you are ready.

Knead is not here to manage your day. It just wants to make taking a little break easier—and feel a little more like playing with a cat.
