What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Dandelion Void’s inspirations have overwhelmingly been long-term, community-involved projects, and as modders we have direct experience of the power of fans to shape a game into something truly great. Early Access lets us work alongside players to make the game as good as it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Development timelines are always subject to change (whether we like it or not!), but we’re currently aiming for an Early Access launch in 2027. We intend to remain in Early Access for about a year before releasing into 1.0, though this is obviously dependent on the final 1.0 content. We’ll keep folks updated here and on socials, and maintain an updated roadmap of major planned features and milestones.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will feature a larger, more complete map, deeper lore, more enemies and other entities, full mod support, and likely a host of features and additions that the community is yet to suggest! Naturally, with a ways to go before 1.0, the exact contents are still being decided, but we’ll stay in close contact with the community as we approach the big date.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We’ve just released our first public demo, which shows off some of the core systems, features and themes of the game as described in the "About this Game" Section.
These core systems will form the foundations for the Early Access launch, with progress and additions covered by our roadmap and community feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer the game at a lower price during Early Access to reflect its initial content and to reward players who join us early. As major updates and new features are added toward 1.0, the price may increase accordingly but we will ensure that we communicate this early to the community.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement and feedback is incredibly important to us. We’ve set up feedback forums on Steam, Discord, and in-game to get your thoughts and suggestions on how to make the game better, and stay active there and on social media in order to give everyone a stake in Dandelion Void’s progress.”

Roadmap

About This Game

  • Survive on a ruined generation ship full of peril, from starvation to shipquakes to highly-evolved botanical horrors

  • Craft, scavenge, and repurpose tools, clothing, weapons and the finest tech that 1970s Earth had to offer

  • Construct shelters and bases in the abandoned chambers of the Pergola; decorate with looted furniture, or craft your own

  • Customize your character’s lineage, backstory, traits and appearance

  • Face new challenges on each run as the hand-authored ship map is modified with randomized overgrowth and decay

  • Work together to survive alongside friends in optional co-op multiplayer

  • Make the game yours with full mod support at launch

Survive the Pergola

A civilization in a bottle, the starship Pergola carried everything its crew would need for a generations-long voyage: living quarters, hospitals, bars, libraries, reactors, farms, factories, and so much more, now all gone to seed.

Pick your way through ruined halls and corridors in your hunt for resources. Craft and scavenge what you need to survive. Make use of all technology at your disposal, restoring power to doors using computer terminals or fashioning weapons from metal shards and plant stems. Defend yourself against the ship’s horrors new and old: hazardous materials, collapsing structures, broken airlocks, and the over-evolved descendants of its original plant life.

With each attempt, the details of the ship change. The undergrowth spreads differently, doors break or open, medkits are spoiled or water pipes cease to function. Even as your knowledge of the Pergola grows, each run presents a new set of challenges.

Make this your home

There’s more to life than just staying alive. In addition to hunger, thirst, and shelter needs, you must balance your comfort and happiness. Build a home wherever you can: an abandoned air duct, an office supply closet, or a leafy hovel by a reactor cooling pool. Furnish your dwelling with cozy furniture and decorate it with strange artifacts to boost your morale.

Those who came before

In the late 20th century, the brutality of capitalism reached its zenith. Amidst popular uprisings and military expansions, a cadre of artists, scientists, and controversial financiers in the autonomous San Francisco Bay founded the Acorn Starship Collective. Visionaries to some, gutless cowards to others, the ASC launched the Pergola towards an exoplanet with speculated life-sustaining capability, a dozen generations away.

You know nothing of this. Your eyes have never seen these long dead founders, and your feet have never known the soil of Earth. Your world is one of cold steel bulkheads, winding jungle corridors, and the groan of unfamiliar machinery. You are alone. What happened to this place?

Face the jungle together

Explore and survive with friends in co-op-focused PvPvE multiplayer, either peer-to-peer or with player-hosted servers. Band together to tackle dangerous expeditions, spread the load of base management, or interfere with your friends’ attempts at survival. Even playing solo, you’re bound to encounter unlikely interspecies allies amongst the Pergola’s jungles…

Shape the world

Our game director originates from the modding community of Project Zomboid, which has inspired us to center customization and player agency in this new title. The full game includes Dandelion Void’s custom map editor and its robust Lua API.

Create and modify maps, import custom clothing and weapons, or dream up whole new Lua-scripted scenarios and biomes. Dandelion Void is a game made by modders, for modders.
