Why Early Access?

“Animal Farm's core matches are playable, but card and rule balance, tutorials, and the overall play experience still need input from more players. Early Access will help us understand how different decks and strategies perform in real matches and use that feedback to guide development.”

“We do not currently have a fixed end date. The duration of Early Access will depend on player feedback and our progress on rule balance, usability, and online stability. We will share progress through Steam announcements as we gain a clearer view of readiness for the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to refine card and rule balance based on player feedback, improve tutorials, interfaces, and interaction flows, and work on online stability and performance. Our aim is a clearer and smoother match experience for the full release. The scope of these improvements may evolve as testing continues.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes single-player matches against AI, tutorials, deck building, and two-player online room matches. Players can play complete matches built around resources, card abilities, and votes across the districts. The game is still in development, and card balance, interface interactions, and the online experience need further refinement. Online play requires an internet connection and a signed-in Steam client; connection compatibility in some regions is still being investigated.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The base game is free during Early Access, and we plan to keep it free at full release. We do not plan to introduce a charge for the base game when Early Access ends.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can report issues and share match experiences and suggestions through the Steam discussions and the in-game feedback feature. We will use this feedback to guide improvements to card balance, tutorials, and interactions, and share major updates and development progress through Steam announcements.”

About This Game

Animal Farm is a free strategy card battler about resources, votes, and rules. Deploy animal characters across three districts, manage limited resources, and gain the upper hand through abilities, tactics, and bills. Be the first to win three seats and take the election.

Build your deck in pairs

In Standard constructed play, choose five distinct pairs to form a 10-card deck. Both cards in each fixed pair must be included, with no duplicate cards. Combine character abilities and card effects to develop your own strategy.

Turn resources into votes

Compete for influence across the Left, Center, and Right districts. Commit resources to your board, choose when to use abilities or pass, and weigh immediate votes against the rounds ahead. A single opposing move can change where you need to act next.

React with tactics. Change the rules with bills.

Function cards can be played as tactics to resolve their effects or as bills that change the rules on the table. A new bill replaces the previously active bill. Time your proposals to support your deck and disrupt your opponent's plans.

Ways to play

Play single-player matches against AI, use online matchmaking, or create and join two-player rooms. Standard constructed play is currently available. Online play requires an internet connection and a signed-in Steam client; connection compatibility in some regions is still being investigated.
