About This Game

Days spent in front of your screens,
prepping instant noodles, staring out the window.

Days spent without noticing that you might not be
quite as solitary as you thought you were.

What if something - or someone -
were desperately trying to get your attention?

What if you finally paid attention?

READ: 3AM tells the story of two lonely souls, the need to be seen,
and something that should not be able to message you.

Told through a mix of visual novel storytelling and chat-sim interactions,
you'll spend much of the game talking through messages,
choosing how to respond, and slowly shaping your relationship with whoever
- or whatever - is on the other side of the screen.

At first, it's easy enough to treat them like any other stranger online.

Then things start happening outside the chat.

Play a strange little love story about loneliness, connection,
and something supernatural that really, really wants you to notice it.

And find your own ending.

READ: 3AM is a choice-driven visual novel where
conversations matter just as much as the decisions you make outside of them.

Read the story, explore your surroundings,
talk to your friends, and spend perhaps a
little too much time chatting with the mysterious new presence in your life.

What you say - and how you say it - shapes your relationships,
changes how characters respond to you, and influences how the story develops.

The protagonist of READ: 3AM has no defined appearance or gender,
leaving room for you to step into the story and experience it as your own.

Your mysterious love interest is a little different.

You choose their gender, but not necessarily who they become.

Their personality, behaviour towards you,
and the relationship that develops between you
are shaped by the way you choose to interact with them.

After all, they're paying very close attention.

Every visual in READ: 3AM is created by hand.

The game's backgrounds combine original photography
taken specifically for the project with digital painting
and mixed-media techniques, creating spaces that sit
somewhere between the familiar and the uncanny.

Characters are digitally painted to complement
that same stylised, slightly unreal atmosphere.

READ: 3AM is a love story.

a way.

You can choose the gender of your love interest,
but their gender does not determine your route.

Instead, how they behave towards you and how your
relationship develops depends on your own attitude towards them.

Be sweet. Be cautious. Be an ass. Flirt shamelessly.
Keep them at arm's length.

Just remember that the thing on the other side of
the screen is learning from you.
