About This Game

From hell to the living world, together

An ordinary day, an ordinary walk through the city... until a truck comes around the corner. When you open your eyes the sky is red, there is lava below you and your hands are bare bone: you are in hell. The only way out is the tower rising through giant bones toward the sky. Climb Up Together is a co-op climbing game for 1 to 4 players: climb from the very bottom to the summit, reclaim your lost body piece by piece on the way, and try to return to the world of the living as a human again.

Become human again, piece by piece

You start the climb as a bare skeleton. Shrines placed along the tower hold your head, torso, hips, arms and legs; each shrine turns one part of your skeleton back into flesh. Once all seven parts are back in place, the final shrine at the summit gives you your heart. The moment one of you takes the heart, the team's journey ends together, and the results screen shows everyone's time, highest point, collected parts and number of falls.

One tower, many worlds

The higher you climb, the further hell falls behind, debris rains down from above and the sky turns from red to blue:
  • A Hell Gate of giant bones and lava
  • A candle cellar lit by giant dripping candles
  • An industrial twilight of train tracks, giant pipes, cranes and balloons
  • Sandstorm canyons, rope bridges, temples
  • A city with traffic flowing down its roads and viaducts
  • Cloud islands, helicopters, bouncy clouds and balloon lifts
  • An enchanted forest where you spiral up the mushroom shelves of a giant tree
  • A sky cathedral of shattering stained glass, organ air jets and beams of light, with the heart waiting at the very top

The course

Run, sprint, jump, grab ledges and pull yourself up. Along the way:
  • Moving platforms: stone elevators, helicopters, balloon lifts, gondola wheels, swinging nests, rising bridges
  • Wind: steady breezes and timed gusts whose rhythm you learn to slip through
  • Jump pads: balloons that squash under your feet, springy mushrooms, cloud pads, organ air jets
  • Crumbling ground: rotten mushroom caps and stained glass that shatters beneath you
  • Updrafts: beams of light that carry you upward
  • Icy, slippery surfaces where your momentum drags you along

Falling is not death, it is lost height

Traps don't kill, they throw you. The real price is the fall: every meter you lose has to be climbed again. How much of that climb you get back depends on the checkpoint system, and the host picks the difficulty in the lobby:
  • Baby: teleport straight back to the highest point you have reached, whenever you want.
  • Normal: shrines act as checkpoints. Fall, and you return to the last shrine you reached.
  • Hard: no checkpoints at all. Wherever you land, you climb back up yourself.
Player collision is a lobby option too: on a narrow ledge you can push your friend, or simply pass through each other.

Climb together

  • Solo, or online co-op for up to 4 players through Steam
  • Everyone controls their own character; the height meter on screen always shows where the team is
  • Push-to-talk voice chat and text chat
  • Public, friends-only or password-protected lobbies, friend invites and join codes
  • If the host leaves, the session is handed over to a new host and progress is kept

Your own skeleton

Pick your bone color, add head and back accessories, adjust your body proportions. As you collect parts, your skeleton turns human before your eyes, and the skeleton figure on your screen shows which parts are still bone.
