About This Game

The Official's Path

From your early twenties as a fresh recruit to retirement at sixty, this is a survival memoir of officialdom written by you.

This is a text-based career simulation game about choices and consequences. You play as an ordinary civil servant facing a series of events with no standard answers in the tide of the times — will you stay true to your principles or go with the flow? Will you climb steadily or take risky shortcuts? Every decision shapes your unique journey through the official world.

There is no black-and-white moral judgment here, only different choices and different costs.

Key Features

Monthly Event-Driven Gameplay: Work, family, society, lifelong stories... various events trigger randomly, with three options leading to three different lives.

14 Attributes in Real-Time: Business ability, writing skills, networking, mass base, leader impression, integrity, energy, stress, family harmony, backer, risk, reputation, money, negative records — positive options may simultaneously drain energy, while negative choices may plant hidden risks.

Comprehensive Promotion System: Position vacancies, tenure, work performance, leader favorability, democratic evaluation, factional stance, education, age, unit atmosphere, competition, opportunity windows, high-level difficulty coefficients... promotion is not just about grinding attributes.

Complete Career Path Across 8 Ranks: From clerk to provincial level, the higher you climb, the harder it gets — the ceiling is real.

8 Systems × 7 Regions = 56 Distinct Life Starting Points

  • Party & Government Offices: Core hub of party and government, writing ability and leader impression are crucial.

  • Powerful Bureaus: Development & Reform, Finance, Housing & Construction — strong business but many temptations and high risks.

  • Political & Legal System: Public security, procuratorate, court, justice — strict discipline, high integrity requirements.

  • Emergency Management: Heavy tasks and pressure, show your responsibility at critical moments.

  • Mass Organizations: Trade unions, Communist Youth League, Women's Federation — mass base is key.

  • Township & Subdistrict: Grassroots frontline, directly facing the public, obvious promotion ceiling (breakthrough promotion possible).

  • Vertically Managed Units: Tax, customs, meteorology — relatively independent, limited networking.

  • Public Institution Units: Research, education, healthcare — less pressure, different promotion paths.

From Beijing-Tianjin-Shanghai to the northwest frontier, 7 regions each have different wage levels, promotion difficulties, and local 特色 events: Beijing-Tianjin-Shanghai, Southeast Coast, Central Six Provinces, Western Provinces, Northeast Three Provinces, Northwest Frontier, Hainan & Planned Cities.

Dozens of Lifelong Storylines — The Legacy of Two Generations

This is the core feature system of the game. Based on your starting year, region, and family background, the system automatically matches a dedicated lifelong storyline that accompanies your entire career.

  • Generation One (1990-2014 start): Pioneers of reform and opening up, experiencing SOE restructuring, WTO accession, Wenchuan earthquake, Beijing Olympics, financial crisis... finding your place in dramatic social change.

  • Generation Two (2015+ start): Young cadres of the new era, facing targeted poverty alleviation, anti-crime campaigns, rural revitalization, pandemic response, common prosperity... writing your own chapter in the new journey.

Each storyline has multiple plot nodes that trigger naturally by year, intertwining with your career progression. Your relationship with the story's protagonist changes in real-time, and your choices may even alter the story's direction. Important characters have exclusive character portraits and interactive dialogue.

Rich Endings and Achievements

Over a Dozen Endings: Normal retirement, medical retirement, overwork illness, corruption downfall, shuanggui investigation, "fifty-nine phenomenon," family troubles, going into business, breakthrough promotion... every choice accumulates toward your final ending.

30+ Achievements: Covering promotion, integrity, family, lifelong stories, and more, including hidden achievements and lifelong story-specific achievements.

Chain Events and Easter Eggs: Careful players will discover hidden chain event lines and real-world tributes.

How to Play

Every month you'll encounter various events — some trivial, some life-changing. Your choices affect your attributes, relationships with leaders and colleagues, financial situation, and ultimately your career trajectory.

Will you follow the rules and rise steadily but slowly? Or take shortcuts for quick promotion at the risk of investigation? Will you balance family and career, or sacrifice everything for power?

For those in the official world, every choice carries weight.
