Mine, automate and defend. Land on a generated mining claim, find the pay-dirt, set robots digging. Everything you build makes noise, and noise is what the machines that took Earth hunt. Hold out, launch, sell, and go back down for more.

About This Game

Earth belongs to the machines. What is left of us lives in orbit but supplies are running out.

Deepworks is a 2D mining and automation game with a tower-defense spine. A Hub drops onto a mining claim; you and a crew of robots bore into the rock, cap the seams, refine on site and belt the ingots back to the top. The louder your factory, the bigger the wave of angry robots that comes for it. Hold the claim as long as you can, launch with the cargo, sell it to the Mothership to sustain the fleet, buy the crew a better bit, and go down again.

How a claim goes

Pulse the rock to find the seams. Paint a bore and the crew digs it. Clamp miners onto the ore, lay belts to a refinery, run power from coal you cut yourself. Watch the noise meter — it decides what arrives at the surface — and spend what you save on turrets, walls, and ammunition to hold out as long as you can. Then decide: launch now with what you have, or dig one more chamber and risk the next wave.

Orbital support

Call in orbital support to take on a tough wave.

Under the rock

- Strata you can feel. Soil gives way to shale, granite, then obsidian. Every band is a mix, the boundaries wander, and a harder seam is a wall until the crew carries the bit for it.

- Water that moves. Chambers generate half-flooded; break into one and it pours down your shaft, spreads across your floor and drowns the machines standing in it. A Pump turns a pool into canisters the Mothership pays for — and a seep behind the wrong wall keeps coming until it is spent.

- Lava. Deep, red, and final: anything it touches melts.

On the surface

- Turrets, walls, and mortars, each set to its own rounds — FMJ, AP, HE, EMP — pressed from three grades of ammunition by your own Armory.

- Crawlers, Flyers, Bulwarks, Sappers that ignore your guns and go for the Hub, and a Resonant Titan on the array.

- Overcharge, orbital support called down onto the claim, and the Hub's own gun for when the line breaks.

Between claims

The Mothership is where you prepare - sell the take, hire robots, buy support and upgrades, and take on contracts.

Built for the Deck

Full controller play with a pad-driven cursor; mouse and touch too. Every claim is generated, every robot has a name, and there is always one more seam a little deeper than you should go.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Deepworks was made with the help of AI tools. Some of the game's art and audio were generated with AI and then reviewed and edited by the developer, and AI assisted with writing code. Nothing in the game is generated by AI while you play.

I'm an indie dev with a day job. Using AI made building this game possible. I built this game for the fun of it and have no interest in paying thousands or even hundreds of dollars to artists for a little side hobby.
