About This Game

PC moments become little creatures

Tab-lings is a desktop companion game where optional, selected parts of your PC activity can create named creatures that live just above the Windows taskbar. Choose sources such as foreground window and browser titles or filenames from folders you select. You can also create every creature manually and play offline.

Care for a growing collection

Feed your Tab-lings, customize them, learn their traits, and help their relationships grow. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and lifetime goals to earn rewards at your own pace. Draw a custom 16 x 16 creature and give it a full set of animated poses.

Make the habitat yours

Choose how many Tab-lings live above the taskbar, decide how the roster rotates, and arrange habitats across your displays. Empty habitat space stays out of the way while each visible creature remains ready for a visit.

Private and local by default

Every automatic discovery source starts off and has its own visible control. Candidate text passes through a local privacy gate before it can affect gameplay or be saved. Rejected text is not stored. Pause discovery immediately, inspect or clear local history, and remove saved game data whenever you want.

The game does not capture screenshots, pixels, keystrokes, password contents, or accessibility-tree text. Notification-sender discovery is unavailable in the Steam edition. The rest of the local game works offline without an account.
