About This Game

Every flight begins on a green cliff above the Pacific at dawn. Before you step off, you choose what to take: three tools from whatever the morning offers (a slingshot, maybe, or an owl, or a pair of winged boots) and one gift drawn blind from a bag. The canopy fills, the sea below turns jade, and dolphins rise beside you. For a while there is only warm air, long light and the coast running on ahead.

Then the afternoon turns gold, and one of the clouds holds still a moment too long. It has a face. It is calm. It was here long before you.

Wonder Glider is a paraglider roguelite about one long flight down a summer coast, and the sky that tests you.

Choose what you carry

The morning offers something different every flight, and every tool has only so many uses.

The sky has a face

When one of the clouds starts to look back, a trial has begun, and it won't end until the light is gone.

Keep something for nightfall

There's no flying around the end of a trial. Spend what you carry along the way, or hold something back for the last of the light.

When the face closes its eyes

Hold on to enough, and the sky softens and lets you through.

Mend, trade, choose again

Between the trials waits a quiet Shrine: one gift, a few coins to spend, and the tools that got you this far, starting to wear.

A cloak turned to stone

Reach into the Mystery Bag, turn a plain cloak to stone, and the storm will choose it over you.

How far will it carry you?

Some flights end a few hundred meters short. Some go all the way down the coast. Every one begins again on the cliff at dawn.

Or just fly

Race rivals to the lighthouse, or fly Zen with no score and nowhere to be.

Before you jump

  • Coins come from flying, never from real money.
