About This Game

Ferryman’s Obol is a narrative incremental game where you ferry the dead across the River Styx.  Choose whom you ferry, contend with the river, and hear their stories one crossing at a time.  No combat, and no fail state.  Only the river, the ferry and the dead.

Choose whom you ferry

The souls are always coming.  Most carry obols but some carry nothing at all.  Decide which souls shall cross the river.

Ease the crossing

Unlock upgrades to ease the crossing.  But not all upgrades require obols.  Some upgrades come through the whispers of souls you’ve shown mercy.

Contend with the river

The River Styx keeps most but not all things.  Piece together what you were before and decide what you will be by completing your labor.

Features:

• No combat, no fail states: Many crossings and so many souls to ferry.

• Two upgrade paths: With each crossing you gain obols.  Use these obols to ease your crossings.  But not all souls pay in obols, some pay in whispers that can unlock abilities.

• Choose the souls: The souls are always coming.  You must decide which souls may make the crossing.  Over 70+ souls with their own stories.

• Story of labor: Who were you?  Were you always here?  Will you always be here?
