Why Early Access?

“Night Shift Motel combines motel management, investigation, decision-making, and psychological horror systems that benefit greatly from player feedback. Early Access allows us to improve the balance between these systems, refine the pacing of each night, and better understand how players interact with guests, CCTV events, anomalies, and supernatural encounters.

We want to develop the game together with the community while continuing to improve its atmosphere, gameplay variety, balance, and overall experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Night Shift Motel to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 to 18 months. However, development may take longer depending on player feedback, testing, and the scope of improvements made during Early Access. Our priority is to leave Early Access when the game reaches the level of quality and content we are aiming for rather than committing to a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand Night Shift Motel throughout Early Access with additional guests, encounters, supernatural events, anomalies, motel management interactions, and narrative situations.

We also plan to improve existing systems such as CCTV monitoring, room management, guest interactions, repairs, progression, balancing, and overall game pacing.

The full version is intended to offer greater gameplay variety, more polished systems, improved presentation and performance, and a more complete progression through the motel's story and mysteries.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version focuses on the core Night Shift Motel gameplay loop. Players can manage the motel during their shift, interact with guests, assign rooms, inspect suspicious situations, monitor CCTV cameras, report anomalies, perform maintenance tasks, and encounter psychological and supernatural horror events.

The game already contains the foundation of its management, investigation, and horror systems, while content variety, balancing, progression, visual polish, optimization, and some gameplay systems are still being expanded and refined.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer the game at a lower price during Early Access. The price may increase when the game leaves Early Access to reflect the additional content, features, and improvements added during development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout Early Access. We plan to monitor Steam Discussions, reviews, bug reports, and player feedback to identify technical issues, balance problems, confusing mechanics, and areas where the experience can be improved.

Feedback will also help us evaluate the pacing and difficulty of motel management, guest interactions, CCTV monitoring, anomalies, and horror encounters. While not every suggestion can be implemented, community feedback will be an important part of how we prioritize improvements during Early Access.”
