What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because Tarnish Online is built as a long-term sandbox MMORPG, and we want players to become part of its development from the beginning.

The core gameplay is already playable, including exploration, open-world combat, full-loot PvP, equipment progression, dungeons, world bosses, gathering, crafting, fishing, trading, pets, mounts, guilds, and a player-driven economy.

However, Tarnish Online is still evolving. Some larger world systems and features are planned for future updates, including seasons, disasters, expanded kingdom and settlement systems, caravan raiding, personal islands, and expanded housing and territory features.

Early Access gives us the opportunity to develop these systems alongside our community, collect real gameplay feedback, identify balance and progression issues, improve the economy, and make meaningful changes based on how players actually experience the world.

We want Tarnish Online to become a living world rather than a finished product that stops evolving after launch.

Players who join during Early Access will experience the core Tarnish Online gameplay from the beginning and help shape the direction of the game through feedback, suggestions, and continued participation.

Our goal is to build a deep, competitive, and constantly evolving MMORPG where exploration, risk, progression, trade, and player interaction remain meaningful over the long term.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Tarnish Online to remain in Early Access for approximately 9 to 12 months.

During this period, we plan to expand the world, add new regions, enemies, bosses, equipment, dungeons, events, and progression systems while continuing to improve balance, performance, the player-driven economy, and the overall gameplay experience.

Some larger systems, including Seasons, Disasters, expanded Kingdom and Settlement systems, Caravan Raiding, Personal Islands, and expanded housing features, are planned to be introduced progressively during Early Access.

The exact duration may change depending on development progress, player feedback, and the amount of additional testing and refinement required.

Our goal is to leave Early Access when Tarnish Online has reached a level of content, stability, polish, and depth that we believe provides the best long-term experience for the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Tarnish Online is planned to expand significantly beyond the initial Early Access experience while preserving the core systems and sandbox philosophy of the game.

The foundation of the game will remain the same: exploration, full-loot PvP, equipment-based progression, combat, dungeons, crafting, gathering, fishing, trading, pets, mounts, guilds, and a player-driven economy.

Throughout Early Access, we plan to expand these systems with additional content and deeper interactions, including:

• New regions, biomes, monsters, elites, and world bosses
• New equipment, skills, progression systems, and build options
• More dungeons, challenges, events, and endgame activities
• Expanded crafting, gathering, trading, and economic systems
• Seasons and dynamic world events
• Disasters and changing world conditions
• Expanded kingdom and settlement development
• More advanced caravan and trade systems, including caravan raiding
• Personal islands, housing, and expanded player-building features
• Additional guild, territory, and social gameplay
• Balance, performance, server, and quality-of-life improvements

The full version is intended to provide a more complete and polished sandbox experience with greater world depth, more long-term progression, and more meaningful interactions between players and the game's economy and world systems.

Early Access players will help us prioritize and refine these features through feedback and real-world gameplay data. Not every planned feature is guaranteed to arrive exactly as originally designed, as systems may evolve during development based on technical requirements, balance, and community feedback.

Our goal for the full release is to deliver a more expansive, polished, and sustainable MMORPG experience while maintaining the risk, freedom, and player-driven gameplay that define Tarnish Online.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of Tarnish Online provides a fully playable foundation of the core MMORPG experience.

Players can create and develop their characters, explore the world, fight monsters and bosses, collect and improve equipment, participate in PvE and PvP activities, gather resources, craft items, fish, trade with other players, and progress through the game's equipment-based systems.

The current build includes:

• Open-world exploration and combat
• Full-loot PvP in designated dangerous areas
• Equipment-based progression without traditional character levels
• Equipment Fame and weapon/armor mastery
• Refining, sockets, tiers, and set bonuses
• Active and passive skills
• Q / W / E equipment skills
• Combat Power and Rebirth progression
• Dungeons and Endless Rift
• Tower Defense challenges
• 1v1 Arena
• Scheduled world bosses
• Gathering and harvesting
• Hunting and fishing
• Crafting and production
• Auction House and player trading
• Pets and mounts
• Guilds, parties, chat, and social systems
• Leaderboards and competitive progression

The Early Access build is stable and playable, but development is ongoing. Some systems are still being expanded, balanced, optimized, or refined based on player feedback and gameplay data.

Major planned additions include Seasons, Disasters, expanded Kingdom and Settlement systems, Caravan Raiding, Personal Islands, and expanded housing and world-building features.

Players should expect regular balance changes, new content, bug fixes, performance improvements, economic adjustments, and system expansions throughout Early Access.

The current version represents the core foundation of Tarnish Online. Our goal during Early Access is to steadily expand that foundation into a deeper, more dynamic, and more polished long-term sandbox MMORPG.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to gradually increase the price as Tarnish Online grows throughout Early Access. As we add new content, features, systems, and improvements, the price may increase to reflect the expanding scope of the game.

Any future price changes will be communicated in advance whenever possible.

Players who purchase Tarnish Online during Early Access will not be required to purchase the game again when the full version is released.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want the community to be an important part of Tarnish Online's development throughout Early Access.

We will actively collect player feedback through Steam discussions, community channels, bug reports, surveys, and direct feedback from players. We will use this feedback alongside gameplay data to identify problems, prioritize improvements, and determine which systems need additional development or balancing.

Players will be able to provide feedback on areas such as:

• Combat and class balance
• Equipment, progression, and drop rates
• PvP and full-loot mechanics
• Dungeons and endgame content
• Crafting, gathering, and fishing
• Pets and mounts
• Trading and the player-driven economy
• Quests and world activities
• Guild and social systems
• Performance, bugs, and quality-of-life improvements

We also plan to share development updates, patch notes, upcoming features, and major changes with the community so players can understand how Tarnish Online is evolving.

Some planned features may change during development based on technical requirements, balance considerations, and community feedback. We will remain open to adjusting or redesigning systems when the feedback and gameplay data show that a different approach would create a better experience.

Our goal is to build Tarnish Online together with its players rather than developing in isolation.

Your feedback can influence what we improve, what we prioritize, and how the world of Tarnish evolves throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

EARN EVERYTHING. RISK EVERYTHING.

Tarnish Online is a full-loot sandbox MMORPG built around risk, progression, exploration, trade, and player choice.

There are no traditional character levels to grind. Your power comes from the equipment you earn, the weapons you master, the skills you develop, and the decisions you make throughout your journey.

Explore a vibrant fantasy world filled with dangerous creatures, powerful bosses, valuable resources, hidden locations, challenging dungeons, and other adventurers.

Leave the safety of town and the stakes change.

The gear you carry can be lost.
The loot you discover can become someone else's reward.
The companion you bring into the wilderness can become part of your greatest victory — or your greatest loss.

How much are you willing to risk?

Explore. Fight. Trade. Survive — or become someone else's loot.

A SANDBOX MMORPG BUILT AROUND CONSEQUENCES

Tarnish Online is designed around meaningful decisions.

Instead of following a traditional theme-park MMO structure, Tarnish gives you multiple ways to progress, build wealth, master your equipment, and interact with the world.

Become a powerful fighter.

Master a profession.

Gather rare resources.

Craft valuable equipment.

Hunt powerful creatures.

Build a guild.

Compete against other players.

Trade your way to wealth.

Or simply explore the world and discover what lies beyond the next horizon.

Your character is not defined by a level number.

Your equipment, mastery, skills, reputation, wealth, and choices define your journey.

FULL-LOOT OPEN-WORLD PVP

The wilderness is dangerous by design.

Outside protected towns and designated safe areas, every journey carries a risk.

In full-loot PvP zones, defeat can have real consequences. The equipment and resources you carry are part of the risk you choose to take.

• Full-loot PvP in designated open-world areas
• Real inventory loss when defeated in full-loot zones
• PK and player conflict
• Duels and structured PvP
• Guild conflicts and territorial struggles
• Safe towns and protected areas for storage, preparation, and trade

Your bank protects what you have already earned.

What remains in your inventory is a decision.

How much should you carry?

How much can you safely bring home?

When should you turn back?

In Tarnish, knowing when to take a risk can be just as important as knowing how to fight.

PROGRESSION WITHOUT TRADITIONAL LEVELS

Tarnish Online removes the traditional character-level treadmill.

There is no endless cycle of gaining levels simply to unlock the next zone.

Instead, your progression comes from your equipment, mastery, upgrades, skills, and long-term character development.

Gear can be refined, upgraded, socketed, and developed into increasingly powerful builds.

Equipment Fame allows you to develop mastery around specific weapon and armor types as you use them.

Active and passive skills allow you to customize your combat style.

Q, W, and E equipment skills connect your abilities directly to the equipment you choose to wear.

Combat Power provides a clear representation of your current equipped strength.

Rebirth, titles, and long-term progression provide additional goals for players looking to continue developing their characters.

You don't simply become stronger because a level number increased.

You become stronger because you earned it.

A WORLD THAT CONTINUES TO GROW

Tarnish Online is designed as an evolving online world.

The current Early Access experience focuses on exploration, combat, progression, gathering, crafting, dungeons, PvP, pets, mounts, trading, guilds, and social interaction.

The world will continue to expand throughout Early Access with new regions, monsters, bosses, equipment, activities, challenges, events, progression systems, and quality-of-life improvements.

Our goal is to create an MMORPG that becomes deeper and more engaging over time while preserving the core sandbox experience.

COMBAT, DUNGEONS AND CHALLENGES

The open world is only part of Tarnish Online.

Take on structured PvE content, push your limits, compete for rankings, and search for powerful rewards.

Wave-based dungeons test your ability to survive escalating encounters.

Sequential-kill challenges reward efficiency and combat mastery.

Star-rated dungeons provide additional challenges for experienced players.

Endless Rift offers repeatable challenges with weekly rankings.

Tower Defense scenarios challenge players to defend valuable objectives against waves of enemies.

Scheduled world bosses create opportunities for players to gather, cooperate, compete, and fight for valuable rewards.

The 1v1 Arena provides a dedicated competitive environment with spectator support.

Whether you're farming Fame, chasing rankings, testing your build, or hunting rare equipment, Tarnish gives you multiple ways to challenge yourself.

BOSS HUNTING AND RARE LOOT

Powerful enemies are more than obstacles.

They are opportunities.

Explore dangerous regions.

Search for elite encounters.

Track boss spawn schedules.

Prepare your equipment.

Gather allies.

Take the risk.

Rare enemies can reward rare equipment, valuable resources, and powerful upgrades.

Every boss encounter can create an opportunity.

And every valuable drop can make you a target.

GATHERING, HUNTING, FISHING AND CRAFTING

Not every adventure requires a sword.

Tarnish Online gives you multiple ways to progress outside direct combat.

Gather and harvest valuable resources.

Use the right tools to collect materials.

Hunt creatures across the world.

Fish through dedicated fishing activities.

Use gathered materials to craft and produce valuable goods.

Discover treasure maps and hidden opportunities.

Resources collected by one player can become equipment, crafting materials, trade goods, or profit for another.

Every profession is connected to the world economy.

PETS AND MOUNTS THAT MATTER

Pets and mounts are more than visual accessories.

They are part of your adventure and part of your progression.

Combat pets can support you in battle.

Gathering pets can help with resource-focused playstyles.

Wild mounts can be captured using lasso mechanics.

Pets can evolve, gain abilities, and become valuable companions.

Mounts allow you to travel and explore the world more efficiently.

Bringing valuable companions into dangerous areas can also increase the stakes.

The more valuable your companion becomes, the more carefully you must decide where to take it.

A PLAYER-DRIVEN ECONOMY

Tarnish Online's economy is shaped by players.

Supply and demand matter.

Resources have value because players need them.

Equipment has value because players want it.

Use the Auction House to buy and sell valuable items.

Trade directly with other players.

Send items through player mail.

Use NPC shops and city reputation systems.

Operate private shops and character markets.

Store valuable items securely in your bank.

As Tarnish grows, the economy will continue to evolve alongside the player community.

GUILDS, SOCIAL SYSTEMS AND TERRITORY

Tarnish Online can be played solo, but the world creates opportunities for cooperation and competition.

Join or create a guild.

Form parties.

Communicate with other adventurers.

Participate in guild activities and conflicts.

Challenge other players through duels.

Compete in structured PvP.

Build your reputation.

Take part in territory-focused gameplay.

Future updates may expand guild, territory, and social interaction systems throughout Early Access.

Build a character.

Build a guild.

Build a reputation.

Then defend everything you have created.

EXPLORE A VIBRANT FANTASY WORLD

Travel through a colorful fantasy world filled with distinct environments, creatures, resources, settlements, and challenges.

Explore peaceful meadows and forests.

Travel through villages and dangerous wilderness.

Discover deserts, frozen regions, volcanic territories, mysterious caves, and other unique environments.

Each region offers new enemies, new resources, new encounters, and new opportunities.

The world is designed to reward exploration.

Discover hidden locations.

Find valuable resources.

Encounter powerful enemies.

Track down bosses.

Search for rare loot.

Follow roads — or leave them behind.

There is always another place to discover.

AN ONLINE WORLD BUILT AROUND PLAYERS

Tarnish Online is designed from the ground up as an online multiplayer MMORPG.

Your character exists in a persistent shared world alongside other adventurers.

Players can cooperate, compete, trade, fight, form guilds, build wealth, and create their own stories.

The economy is shared.

The world is shared.

The risks are real.

The opportunities are yours.

Play together across supported platforms and experience the same world with other adventurers.

CROSS-PLATFORM MULTIPLAYER

Tarnish Online is designed to connect players across supported platforms.

Players can join the same online world, interact with one another, participate in combat, trade, form parties, and progress together regardless of their supported platform.

The Steam version is built specifically for PC with keyboard and mouse controls and a dedicated PC interface, while cross-platform multiplayer allows players to share the same online experience.

BUILT FOR PC AND CROSS-PLATFORM PLAY

Tarnish Online's PC version is designed around keyboard and mouse controls and a dedicated desktop interface.

The game uses server-authoritative systems for important online gameplay such as combat and loot.

The goal is to provide a stable and persistent multiplayer world where players across supported platforms can interact and play together.

EARLY ACCESS

Tarnish Online enters Steam Early Access on September 25, 2026.

The Early Access version provides a playable foundation built around exploration, combat, full-loot PvP, equipment progression, gathering, crafting, dungeons, world bosses, pets, mounts, trading, guilds, PvP, and social systems.

During Early Access, we plan to continue expanding the world with new content, enemies, equipment, activities, events, progression systems, balance changes, performance improvements, and quality-of-life updates.

Some systems may evolve significantly during development based on gameplay data, technical requirements, balancing, and community feedback.

Early Access players are joining Tarnish at the beginning of its journey and will help shape the future of the game.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM EARLY ACCESS

Tarnish Online is being developed as a long-term online world.

Our goal is not simply to add more content.
