Evons is a highly strategic card game played on a grid. No written effects on the cards: everything comes down to position, stats, arrows, and their abilities. Take control of the board and win. Building your deck isn't enough, every match is a battle of positioning. Easy to learn, hard to master.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm a solo developer working on my first game. Releasing it in Early Access lets me gather real feedback from players and improve the game together with the community. I expect some bugs and rough edges to surface only with a larger player base, especially around matchmaking and ranked play. I'd also like to grow the game by listening to the community and deciding together which features to work on in the future.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect the game to remain in Early Access for roughly 12 to 18 months, so approximately until the second half of 2027. As a solo developer this is my best estimate, and it may shift depending on community feedback and how quickly issues are found and fixed.

During this period my focus will be on stabilizing matchmaking and ranked play, fixing bugs and polishing the overall user experience. New mechanics and content sets released after that are not part of this estimate and may be added later on.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Compared to the Early Access version, with the full release we plan to refine and expand several aspects of the game. In particular, we aim to improve matchmaking and ranked play, fix bugs reported by the community, and polish the overall user experience (UX/UI). Based on the feedback we receive, we would also like to explore adding new content, mechanics and possibly additional game modes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is already fully playable. You can play matches both online, by creating lobbies with other players, and against the CPU. Players can build their own custom decks. The core game mechanics and the current card set are already in place and working. Automated matchmaking is still being tested and will be put to the test with the Early Access launch. The bugs currently present mainly involve animations and visual effects, and will be fixed during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I don't plan to increase the price during or after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll engage the community mainly through our Discord server, asking for feedback on bugs, user experience (UX/UI), and possible new modes and mechanics to introduce. I'll take players' suggestions into account when prioritizing development and will share updates regularly.”

About This Game

THIS IS THE BATTLEFIELD

A 7x7 grid split into two areas.

The 5x5 main zone in the center is where games are won: only the cards there count toward your score.

The out zone is the ring surrounding the main zone, and it's where you make the strategic plays that can turn the game around.

FLIP TO WIN

Use your monsters' arrows to steal your opponent's cards.

Whoever controls the most monsters in the main zone at the end of the game wins.

FORGET WALLS OF TEXT

There are no written effects on the cards.

All you need to look at are the cost, attack/defense, arrow positions, and abilities.

No more memorizing cards or spending hours reading.

Learn the rules, then put them into play.

EVERY ELEMENT HAS ITS OWN ABILITY

There are 6 elements: Fire, Nature, Earth, Water, Electro, and Darkness, with more colors on the way.

Each element has a special ability you can use to pull off devastating combos.

Build multicolor decks to unleash their full potential.

BUILD YOUR DECK

Sixty cards, up to four copies of each monster, and 30 blocks.

Build with the cards you already own and mix colors however you like.

LEARNING CURVE

The game itself is simple: a couple of matches is all it takes to get the hang of the basics.

Learn to use each element on its own.

Then focus on building combos, mastering positioning, and deckbuilding, and finally start thinking 2–3 turns ahead.

HOW SETS AND MONETIZATION WORK

Buying the game instantly unlocks the entire first set: every card, every copy, with nothing to grind for and no restrictions. Future sets are sold separately and unlock the same way.

There are no random packs and no in-game currency. Nobody gets a better deck by spending more, because everyone who owns a given set has the exact same card pool. What you bring to the match is your strategy.

Cosmetics such as card backs, holographic effects, and much more will be available for purchase in the future.

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:
