687 Days on Mars: First Steps is an introduction to real survival on Mars, where you’ll take your first steps on the Red Planet, establish a shelter, and learn how to survive in its hostile environment.

Manage your oxygen, water, and food supplies while keeping radiation and energy levels under control. Prepare for dust storms and solar storms that can damage equipment and make even a short trip outside the base dangerous.

Build a shelter and gradually transform it into a self-sufficient Martian base. Construct solar panels, storage units, oxygen generators, and water extractors to secure essential resources. Every upgrade increases your chances of survival.

Use drones to mine Martian regolith, build mines, and process resources into components needed to construct new buildings. Use automated transport drones to manage resources throughout your base.

Conduct research and unlock new technologies, from extracting water from underground ice deposits and producing fertilizers to advanced radar and weather systems. Every new technology opens up new possibilities.

Grow crops such as potatoes and tomatoes. Using aeroponic methods, you can cultivate plants without soil and overcome the challenges of Mars. Improve your crops with proper lighting and fertilizers.

Leave the safety of your base and explore the vast surface of Mars. Search for supply drops previously sent from Earth and resource deposits needed for further development. Every expedition can bring valuable resources, new technologies, and more answers.
