The bathroom is the experiment. The ocean is the consequence.

You wake inside a strange containment facility with one unusual feature: a seemingly ordinary bathroom connected to something that should not exist.

Beyond it lies an endless ocean.

Every dive is affected by what you do before entering the water. Turning fixtures on or off, interacting with objects, and changing the state of the bathroom can alter the conditions waiting for you on the other side.

Your job is to experiment, find 6 items, observe the results, and figure out how to survive.

But something is watching you from the depths.

About this Demo

The SCP: DARKWATER Demo introduces the core gameplay loop of the full game:

Investigate the bathroom → change the experiment → enter the ocean → explore → survive → return → use what you learned.

The demo contains a sequence of increasingly dangerous dives designed to introduce the relationship between the containment facility, the underwater world, and the entities inhabiting it.

Your objective is simple:

Understand the experiment. Complete the dives. Find a way out.

But the deeper you descend into Darkwater, the more you may begin to question whether escaping is actually part of the experiment.
