About This Game

Welcome to Io Resort — the outpost on Jupiter's most volcanic moon, where the skylights frame Jupiter itself and the last word in luxury is a hotel room big enough to park a hovercart or even fly a starship in.

Io Resort MMO is a real-time massively multiplayer sandbox played inside the enormous rooms of Io Resort's luxury hotels. Every room is a live 3D space: fly your ship through the doors from room to room, click what interests you, and watch the resort go about its business — alien traffic crossing the skylight, the security droid on patrol, the maintenance droid trundling out to fix a flickering light.

Under the hull, the game is run by a live command console — the depth of a classic text-era MMO with a modern 3D client wrapped around it. Learn a handful of keys and the console does the rest; even the paintings on the walls will teach you tricks.

Make your fortune

Take mercenary contracts, delivery runs, and bounty hunts from a deep mission ladder. Trade and earn your way to bigger ships. Shape your character with talents. Build and command drone fleets. Fight hostile fleets, salvage the wreckage, and keep an escape booster handy — it's the cheapest insurance in the game.

Fourteen hotels, fourteen moods

Every hotel in Io Resort has its own palette and character — polished reflective floors, glowing cove lighting, and a skylight view of Jupiter that follows you across the room. Positional 3D audio puts the hum of docked ships and passing traffic exactly where it belongs.

A world that doesn't wait

The server is persistent and shared. Other players are out there earning, building, and fighting in the same rooms — cross paths, ally your fleets, or stay out of each other's way. How much risk that carries is your call: seven hotels run the gentlest PVP rules — everyone starts there, in Sanctuary — while the other seven, from Continuum up, bring more aggressive aliens and higher-stakes PVP. Both lines span every level from first arrival to endgame, so pick your side and change your mind whenever you like.
