About This Content

What you do

  • Hold Fort Providence for 2 full days while the dead come up the road at it
  • Post your soldiers on the wall, the upper deck and the watch towers, and arm them as the gold comes in
  • Level up during a run and pick a skill card each time, Tier1 - Tier3 Skills
  • Bank "Bulwark" as you hold — win or lose — and spend it on permanent upgrades
  • Come back stronger and hold longer than last time. Constant progression

Hold the wall.

The road ran out. Fort Providence is where the settlers stopped running and started digging in. It is the last chapter of "Dead Man's Gulch".
There is nowhere left to fall back to. What you have is a palisade, the men standing on it, and every ugly thing you can pour, roll or drop over the front of it.

Tar, black powder and iron

  • Tip kettles of boiling pitch over the wall and set the it ablaze
  • Roll fused powder kegs out through hatches in the timber, straight into the crowd
  • Site up to six mortars in the yard and walk their fire down the road
  • Raise eight watch towers out on the rock
  • Nine kinds of dead come up this road, and the ones that arrive late do not go down easily

Send for the guns

The cannons that got the settlers through are still out in the scrub, and the cavalry is fighting somewhere nobody has heard from. Raise enough gold and you can send riders for them. Whether they arrive in time is up to how long you can hold.

Fall back, learn, hold again

Every run ends. What you learned does not. "Bulwark" carries over into a ledger of permanent upgrades — heavier shells, better timber and men who shoot straighter — so the next night starts a little less hopeless than the last.
  • Real progression from run to run
  • Progress saves itself
  • English, German and Spanish

A note from the developer

Fort Providence is where the story comes to an end. Everything the first two Levels taught me went into this wall. Some new mechanics are included that did not exist in the earlier two - your defensive structures might turn out to be the real heroes in the end.
If you play it and something feels off, tell me — I read everything and want to make this the best it can be.
