About This Game

> What is Fish Party

Fish Party is a one-button party game for 1 to 12 players in which you and your friends form a chaotic aquatic ecosystem. Play online or local multiplayer as 20 unique fish in 30 distinct ecosystems inspired by real reefs, lakes, shipwrecks, and more across the world! With simple controls, streamlined setup, and a high potential player count, Fish Party is frantic fun for any group at any time.

> How to Play

Each player controls one fish in a handcrafted ecosystem, trying to perform their simple goal to gain points. Fry school together, damselfish defend algae farms, and sharks hunt as an apex predator. Fry want to group up, but that group inevitably attracts a shark. Damselfish want to defend their algae, but when a school of fry tears past them with a shark in tow, the damselfish needs to start improvising. You may have one simple goal, but exactly how you achieve it is always unique in an ecosystem with your friends jostling to achieve their goals too.

> One Button Controls

Players join a match by pressing any button connected to your computer. Keyboards, controllers, and mice all work, but so does everything from toy guitars to touchscreens! A keyboard and mouse alone can already support around double the potential player count of games using 4 controllers. A player’s button alternates their fish’s turning direction, letting them steer through the 2D ecosystem with any input! If you can press it, you can play with it!

> Who Are We

Fish Party is a passion project from four close friends learning and studying game development together. At FunRug Studio we love making games that allow you to have fun with friends and bring people together!
