An idle loot RPG that lives in a strip above your taskbar. Your character fights somewhere deep and dark while you get on with your day. You decide how far down to send them — then glance at the bottom of your screen to see what came back up.

About This Game

It plays while you're doing something else

Overdepth is an idle loot RPG that lives in a thin strip above your taskbar. Not a window to keep on top of — a line at the bottom of your screen where a small figure is fighting something you can't quite see. You send them down, you go back to work, and a few minutes later there's a new bow in the tray.

One decision, made over and over

How deep do you send them? Deeper is meaner, and meaner drops better — rarer things, things with names. Deeper is also where your character stops coming back. A lost run costs nothing but the time it took, so the question is never "can I afford this", it's "am I ready yet".

Then something drops that doesn't raise a number but changes a rule. Healing stops working entirely, and everything you swing hits twice as hard. Every blow lands as a critical, and every blow lands for less. Armor stops protecting you and starts healing you.

There is no correct build to go and look up. Armor, evasion, crit, lifesteal, flat damage — all of them get deep, and none of them gets deep the same way. So you pick one because you like how it fights rather than because a guide told you to, and you keep three of them at once so you can change your mind without unpicking anything.

Eventually the ladder stops having a bottom, and the only thing left to measure yourself against is the leaderboard. You can open anyone on it and see exactly what they were wearing when they got there.

Built to be ignored

It keeps going while it's closed and catches you up when you're back. Every depth you reach stays reached, and gear you outgrow becomes the dust that improves the gear you kept — nothing that drops is wasted. No ads, no energy, no timers. Fold it down to a line and forget about it for a day. It'll still be down there, going deeper.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI was used mainly for localization and for drafting written content, which the developer reviewed and edited.

No generative image, audio or video models were used. The game's sprites, item icons and zone backdrops are drawn procedurally by code. the sound effects and the trailer's audio bed are synthesised from waveform formulas.

There is no run-time AI in the shipped product - nothing is generated on the player's machine.
