Call for Artists and Playtesters

We are looking for artists looking to contribute to Kings Cross, as the graphics are wildy dev-looking. While we are greatly thankful for kenney.nl and Penzilla Design for the assets we used in this first build, we are looking to give it the unique look and feel and deserve and are ourselves unable to do so.

If you are into digital boardgames, art and look to leave your mark, contact me/us to get talking.

And we are also looking to playtest Kings Cross in the last Quarter of 2026 and are looking for playtesters providing feedback - mostly to UI/UX and general getting into the game, but we are happy for all feedback.

If you would like to join the closed playtest, feel free to contact us.

About This Game

Kings Cross

Deceptively easy, an uphill battle to master.

  • Do you know how to play Rock-Paper-Scissors?

  • Then you already know how the combat in Kings Cross works.

  • Do you know how to move chess pieces and how to draw and play cards?

  • Yes? Great, you know all the actions you can take in Kings Cross.

  • Now can you pin the actions to a currency named action points and plan your turns in relation to how many action points you have?

  • Awesome, you can play Kings Cross now!

Taking out your enemies

Be the leader you are meant to be.

In Kings Cross you take control of your units symbolized by their weapon. There are 5 different types of units each representing a different part of an advanced RPS System, each defeating 2 and being defeated by 2 of the others.

But be careful, you never know which weapon an opposing unit has, until you confront it (just like in rock paper scissors).

Plan ahaed and be prepared

Place your armies in your territory, move formations towards your enemies and use action cards to gain a tactical advantage.

But be careful, not only is every single fight, a RPS with unknown outcome, there are also cards (e.g. the seasons) changing the foundation of combat rules. In summer you get more actions per turn, at other points you may have your units suffer from plagues or have a global peace enforced.

Game modes and secret alliances

Play 1 on 1, 2 on2, FFA or make secret alliances. At the end of the day, the winner is whose King still stands.

Use the built-in 1 v 1 map or the FFA map - or build your own in the map editor.

Have a certain scenario in mind? Rebuild it or try the challenges the community has built in steam workshop.

Play with your friends like that one Saturday evening enjoying board games when you were young, relieve the precious covid digital boardgame moments or form your first digital board game memories with Kings Cross, and the tense, fun and sometimes crazy interactions and possibilities.
