About This Demo

Cerro Seco National Observatory sits on a mountaintop above the desert of southern Arizona. You arrived for a one-week observing run, expecting to meet your research advisor and a team of technicians. Everyone is gone. The observatory is empty, powered down, and in disrepair.

Take control of the telescope

Each night, conduct your research across the vast night sky. Find and scan stars, nebulae, and galaxies.

Restore the site to look further

During the day, upgrade the observatory to see deeper into the darkness. Explore the site to repair systems: unlock new regions of the sky, resolve fainter objects, and observe in new spectra.

Uncover a secret in the sky

As the observatory grows more powerful, it starts to behave in strange ways. What did the missing staff see?
