About This Game

I Wish You Weren't Here is a short psychological exploration game featuring simple puzzles, atmospheric horror, and a strong focus on story and emotional meaning rather than constant jump scares.

Explore a large, abandoned city filled with outdoor streets and a variety of buildings, including a hospital, factory, warehouse, mineshaft, and more.

As you progress through each new area, your internal monologue reveals more about your journey through the city while reflecting your character's deteriorating mental state. Alone and unsure of what is happening, you watch yourself spiral into hopelessness.

The game is designed to be a short, focused experience. Rather than relying on massive maps or unnecessarily difficult puzzles, I Wish You Weren't Here focuses on keeping you engaged through intuitive but interesting environments, simple puzzles, and details waiting to be discovered by those willing to explore. Explore carefully to discover additional environmental details, lore, and story pieces scattered throughout the world.

Created by music producer Covenant, the game's soundtrack features around 25 original tracks written specifically for the experience. Many of the game's sound effects were also created specifically for the game.
