A Story Rooted in History

Yeommae is inspired by the historical record of Yeommae Godok (염매고독, 魘魅蠱毒), found in the Seongho Saseol (《성호사설》 제5권 〈만물문〉) from the Joseon Dynasty.

1. Localization — All in-game text was written in Korean. Translations into other supported languages were produced with AI translation tools and proofread by native speakers.
2. Development assistance — AI tools were used during development for brainstorming (including generating reference images), planning, and programming assistance.
3. Intro cinematic — 40 of 85 still illustrations were generated/composited with Adobe Firefly and edited by our artists; the rest are hand-drawn.
4. Shadow proxies — 96 low-poly meshes were AI-generated from our artists' own 2D art; they are never rendered on screen and only cast shadows.
