Anvil & Alembic is a cozy fantasy shop-keeping sim where you run an adventurers' outfitter at the edge of the realm. Light the forge, fire the cauldron and set out your wares — then watch townsfolk, knights, mages and nobles walk through the door in search of the gear that will keep them alive out there.

Craft it. Sell it. Send it into legend. Every blade you hammer and every potion you distil can end up on a hero bound for the frontier — and when they come home victorious, your name spreads with them.

Three crafts under one roof

• Smithing — forge daggers, swords, axes, spears and greatswords at the workbench, forge and great forge.
  
• Armouring — hammer caps, mail, plate and shields at the armourer's bench and tanning rack.
  
• Alchemy — distil health, mana, strength, luck and stranger brews at the cauldron, alchemy table and alembic.

More than twenty kinds of customer stroll in, each with their own purse and taste — humble townsfolk and militia, rangers and sellswords, dwarven warriors and wandering mages, right up to knights, nobles and royal envoys. Read what they want, price your wares to steer demand, and delight the VIPs who pay double for your finest work.

Arm heroes for the road

The realm is dangerous, and heroes need outfitting. Rally adventurers and send them on expeditions with gear you forged — the better the equipment, the better their odds. Read the day's omens, provision against what's coming, and cheer a champion who survives quest after quest into Legend. Keep one alive long enough and they'll retire into your shop and repay the favour.

Build, decorate, expand

Design your workshop from the ground up with hundreds of furniture pieces, floor and wall styles, lighting, wall art and garden dressing. Buy adjoining plots to grow your floor, add an upstairs, and turn a roadside anvil into a landmark. Hire and level a crew — blacksmith, armourer, alchemist, shop hand and a minstrel to keep the queue happy.
