About This Game

Head out to sea in an ocean-going cruising sailboat, sail across a world map recreated at true scale, and go see what lies beyond the horizon. Wind and current shape the passage, but the route is yours to choose. From equatorial atolls to northern fjords, every new port you reach opens up a stretch of sea farther out.

Step onto the deck, ease the sheet off the winch, take the wheel, and sail the boat out of the harbor yourself. Sail too close to the wind, and the sails lose their drive, slowing the boat down. Bear away a little and the sails fill again, the boat heels gently, and the speed returns. From casting off for the first time to heading out into open water alone, you'll gradually get to know this boat's quirks.

Choose your home port, hoist the sails, and head out to sea. From coastal waters to the open ocean, unlock new routes port by port, ever further out. Weather changes with location and season, while the tides rise and fall according to real-world tide times. With every arrival, the names on your chart become landscapes unfolding before your eyes.

Plot your route, and the autopilot will hold your heading. You're free to move around the boat: head below deck, open the fridge, check how far you have left to go on the navigation display, or return to your bunk for a nap when you're sleepy. Stock up on supplies, eat well, and sleep soundly. This boat is your home at sea.

Close the game, and your boat keeps sailing. When you open the game again, the logbook shows how many nautical miles your boat has sailed and what weather it encountered. Come ashore, unlock a new port, take a look around, restock your provisions, and set sail again.

Most of the time, nothing happens out on the water, just the sun going down and the moon coming up. Sometimes dark clouds move in, the wind blows harder, and the waves build higher. A change in the sky is the big event of the passage.
