Something ended here. The sun is cold, the planets are empty, and the only voice left is P.O.R.T.I.A., an ancient shepherd intelligence who has kept the watch alone for longer than she can bear to say.

This demo is the beginning of that. It runs in your browser or on your desktop, it does not ask for anything, and it does not end on a timer.

Light the star. Sweep loose stars out of the dark. Buy back Mercury, Venus and Earth, seed life on the third one, and watch its continents green as the population climbs.

Two full stellar generations. One Reignite, the collapse, and the beginning of what comes after. Play it in one sitting or leave it running for a week. It keeps working while you are gone.

She comments on what you build. She remembers what you lose. She gives up her story one transmission at a time, and sometimes, when she thinks you are not listening, she lets something slip.

The first chapter of her novella is in here, and so is the first tier of her sealed ciphers.

A playable piano. A harmonograph that draws the real orbital resonances of the worlds you own. A prime spiral. A double pendulum. Her tapping pattern, and the tape deck she keeps her music in.

All of it is in the demo. None of it is required.

Mars and the outer worlds are visible from here, and locked. You can see them in the Nurture console, which is deliberate. You should know the size of the thing you are being offered.

Past the wall are eight more novella chapters, the outer system, the Array at full strength, 53 more themes, and a question she has not asked you yet.

Nothing is taken away when you reach it. Your worlds keep turning and the star burns as long as you leave it. Stay a while, if you like.
