What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Three Kingdoms Reimagined already has a complete campaign loop: choose a
landed house, manage a living war, command field battles and sieges, develop
settlements, recruit officers, and pursue unification. Early Access lets
players stress the long campaign, balance the many factions, and tell us where
orders, information, and Officer Destinies need to be clearer. That feedback
will shape tuning and usability without changing the game's core identity.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last roughly 9–12 months. Quality and
player feedback will determine the exact timing, so this is a target range
rather than a promise.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to improve campaign balance and pacing, tactical
performance at the largest battle sizes, tutorials and interface clarity,
Officer Destinies presentation, hardware compatibility, and localization
quality. Development priorities may change with player evidence; customers
should buy only if the current playable version is worth the price to them.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Windows version is playable from the 196 AD opening through the
campaign victory condition. It includes famous and custom landed houses, a
real-time campaign map, diplomacy, economy, quests, saves, manual and automatic
battle resolution, field battles, fortified sieges, named officers, council
work, relationships, and Officer Destinies. English and Simplified Chinese
interfaces are present. This is a systems-heavy independent game: balance,
large-battle performance, onboarding, and presentation are still being
refined, and players may encounter bugs or rough edges.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to price the game lower during Early Access and may raise the
price when the game reaches 1.0 to reflect added polish and value. Any change
will be announced in advance. Existing owners will receive the full version at
no additional charge.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Steam Discussions will be the primary public feedback channel. We will post
patch notes and development updates, maintain clear bug-report instructions,
and use reproducible saves, logs, and player reports to prioritize stability,
balance, clarity, and quality-of-life work. We will not promise that every
suggestion becomes a feature, but we will explain the direction of major
changes and keep the store page current.”

About This Game

Rule a house in 196 AD

Three Kingdoms Reimagined is a single-player strategy game played across a pausable real-time campaign map and real-time battles. Begin as Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Lu Bu, Sun Ce, another historical ruler, or a ruler of your own. Each start gives you land to manage and officers to lead.

Armies led by Cao Cao and Xiahou Dun move among Xuchang, Chenliu and Puyang while battles continue elsewhere on the campaign map.

Decide where to expand

Develop settlements, recruit officers, manage your economy and negotiate with rival rulers. Scouts and reports reveal part of the situation, not every enemy movement. Pause or change the campaign speed to read your council’s proposals, then decide whether to strengthen a settlement, move an army or risk an attack. Assign officers to lead armies or work in settlements.

Claim the Mandate by holding a majority of the realm’s 29 capitals. Lose your last holding and your house’s campaign ends.

Yue Jin urges a march, Guo Jia advises gathering strength, and Yu Jin suggests holding position in the Planning Council.

Command battles and sieges

When armies meet, use automatic resolution or command the battle yourself. Select formations, set their facing and order them to move, hold or charge. Watch morale and fatigue before committing your troops. In sieges, choose where to concentrate the assault: attack a gate or send troops up ladders to fight for the ramparts.

Cao Cao’s selected spearmen advance through an open gate toward Lu Bu’s defenders. Siege objectives and formation commands remain visible.

Watch the battle account

Choose Auto Resolve to settle an encounter, then watch a short animated account of the fighting. Pause it, speed it up or skip straight to the result. The outcome stays the same whichever way you watch. Recent battle accounts remain available in a small history list.

The Battle Account shows Cao Cao and Liu Bei’s surviving troops and losses, animated formations, officer remarks, and playback controls.

Continue after the fighting

A victory may gain territory while leaving your army too weak to press on. Casualties, wounded or captured officers and territorial changes affect your next move. Regroup, negotiate or keep marching with the force you still have.

Officers can gain memories, traits and earned titles as they serve. Open their dossiers to see how they have changed, and revisit important events in the Chronicle, your campaign’s record.

Campaign outlook shows three active wars, depleted officer banners returning to Chenliu, and paid armistice offers.

Screenshots and trailer show development gameplay from separate encounters.
